Remote Start on 2011 GT

Has anyone tried to put in a remote starter in a 2011 stang yet?

To make it more difficult has anyone put one in a manual 2011 stang?

Im trying to read over the wiring schmatics looking for a neutral safety wire and cant find one. this would be the only sure safe way to put one in. Does anyone have any info on this?

*beats dead horse*

Don't do it in your manual. not worth the risk. I know you'll be carefull, but still, if anything happens, you most likely won't be covered by insurance or your warranty.

Welcome to the site btw!

^^ yeah i know the problems it can arise from it- thats why i want a for sure way of doing it. If i cant make it 100% bullet proof then ill forget the installation.

investigation continues lol

thinking about the auto option- however the whole point of getting a sports car was to have a manual again lol. plus adding cost to the car for auto trans.

plus if i get a auto you wouldnt be getting my 401a shifter LOL

True! Stick with the manual LOL

I've always wanted remote start, but just for the cool factor. Did that thread give you any ideas?

I would really like to see some wiring from the PCM about gear indicator and if i can find a neutral wire that would be my favorit answer lol.

aaahh I see...

Well I haven't seen any of that info hanging around. Mostly because everytime the subject gets brought up it erupts into a debate of whether people should do it or not.

the only way i would ever do it is if would ONLY function under these rules:

1. Functions ONLY when car is in Neutral, AND emergency break is Engaged.
2. DISABLED when car is in any gear. EDIT: AND/OR emergency break is NOT Engaged

and even then, I would be too afraid to use it worrying that I left it in gear and it would malfunction.

those r the 2 exact conditions i want to cover...

Like someone else mentioned- skip shift should know what gear you are in to force you into 4th. The PCM should have something what gear you are in and tapping this wire could help identifing a neutral setting.

I plan on doing this as well. Viper's procedure to activate the remote start upon shut down doesn't allow you to leave the car in gear and will only activate if the e-brake is engaged.

heres the latest wiring i found

http://freepdfhosting.com/e7d4bcd811.pdf

I might attempt this myself now since i have a clear cut of where the wires are- and with the manual sequence theres no way the car can be in gear while using the remote start.

i have a viper alarm and auto-start installed on my 2010 GT. Grabted i had it installed so i cant tell you exactly how its all wired but its made to be dummy proof for manual transmissins. In order to "arm" the auto-start you have to put it in neaural car running, set the parking brake and hit the start button on your key fob. This turns the auto start on. When you turn and pull your key out the car will continue to run. Once you are out of the car close and lock all your doors, the auto start and alarm are armed. If you dont autostart and you open a door it disarms it. Then only way you could auto start with it in gear is if you have a convertable top down, and some ine puts it in gear or if you have a dog or something in the car when you arm it and it bumps the shifted.
