A quick hardwire question for a radar ?

Ok I'll start by saying I have a 9500IX hard wired to dome light with a very clean install, wires soldered in. Now I'm thinkng of relocating my radar to corner of my dash and run a wire from the A pillar to the radar.

Instead of cutting into more wires I went to Home Depot and bought a double ended female telphone connector. I figured I'll just plug each end in and I would have power at the other end, not. So why is power not passing threw to the end of the cord to power the radar ? Hope I made sence here...

Photos of the connector and plugs might help folks diagnose your problem.

How are you connecting the 2 phone cables together? You may need to reverse polarity. Best way is to first check with a volt meter with and without extension.

Turns out the red and green wire are not always in the same order in every cord. Anyways I re soldered a new phone cord and reran the cord down the A pillar. My suction cup mount would not always hold and I was in fear of the radar smashing into the center console and making marks into it.

That may be to small a gauge for that.
You can run something similar to this:
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...entifier=32416

Basically, plug it in where ever you need switched or constant power. One fuse goes to the new accessory and the other goes to the original circuit. Just remember that the sum of both fuses should now be equal to or less than the original rated fuse.
