Passenger Hand Holds

Passenger Hand Holds
Took a ride with my wife up the hill to Big Bear this weekend. This was the first time I've had the Mustang in the mountains. I left the auto in "S" mode going up and down (wife in car) and was impressed how well the shift strategy worked, even during downhill engine braking. When the passing lanes appeared it was, well, I really love this car! My wife even encouraged me more than once to "get past that last guy" before the lane singled up again! "Oh, yes dear. I'll get right on that!"
But going downhill in the twisty stuff she was having some "issues" urgently saying I was going a bit too fast. Mind you, I was in "S" mode not really trying to push it. I think I was going almost fast enough. Too fast is when you slide off the road, crash, and burn!
Anyway, as we would start to pull some g's through the turns she would begin flailing her arms around and breathing kind of funny. I was thinking that maybe if she had something to grab onto (like the handles in our 4WD's), she might relax a little. Then maybe I could start thumbing the button a little...the one on the shifter, geez!
Does anyone know of, or have adapted handles in new model Mustangs for people riding shotgun? One on the upper door sill would work great!

And duct tape can be used for holding body parts on a car at high speed...or for recreational purposes. I'll have to give this more thought...
I need a new one anyway so maybe I'll get two. I might then talk her into some autocross (a place to wear her new hat)! I laugh imagining what the CHP would think as we motor on by.
You feel my pain.

Around here, it's referred to as the "Oh God!" bar. And I really wish Ford had had the presence of mind to install one on the passenger side. I've had a couple riders express some surprise at there being no assist handle to facilitate entry and exit. No problem for me... I've got mine!

I haven't torn off the A-pillar trim panel yet, but I don't think there's an airbag up there. I know there are some in the dash and the seats. But it was a good suggestion, thanks!
For now, I'll just toss a roll of duct tape in the trunk...just in case...

I've been researching aftermarket handles and found some possibilities. Took your advise and called my parts department. That person understood the issue but said there may be a conflict with the airbags, otherwise, I might adapt something from an Expedition. Or, I could go with some racing seats having built-in grabs.
