My Boss steering wheel mod

I like leather steering wheels, so I never did much care for the Alcantra wheel on the Boss. I also have some concerns with long-term durability and keeping it clean. The last time I was in the dealership, I checked out a Mustang GT on the showroom floor with a leather steering wheel. It felt good and the white stitching matched my car. I had to have it. So it came in and I got it installed today Now I'm waiting on my white shift ball.

so...you went from boss 302 to premium? lol I'm sure a ton of people would have loved to swap with you.

I did the opposite. having a "slippery" steering wheel now forces me to use both hands when I drive.

I've had leather steering wheels for so long, that I suppose I have integrated them into my driving style and they don't feel "slippery" to me. And using both hands is a good thing

I wanted to keep my Alcantra wheel in case I decided to swap back.

I have leather too. Really didn't like the Alcantra.

You're right about durability and cleaning. I switched to the Boss wheels so it would match my suede seat inserts but I am looking forward to going back to the leather eventually. It's extremely hard to keep clean and dark black.

I was worried about the durability of the wheel, but there are some people on here with like 10k miles on their cars that have reported that they hold up well.
Keeping them clean is still a concern though. I keep some alcohol hand-cleaning gel in the door of my car that I use every time I get in. I'm a germophobe though.

When I drive my GF's leather-wrapped Infiniti it feels slippery as heck now.

Be careful with the hand sanitizer. My brother was doing the exact same thing on his '07 Mustang and not waiting for the sanitizer to dry. It eventually rubbed all the black off the radio buttons.
