Mustang Aluminum Jam-nut/Boot Adapter
These have been out of stock for a while, does anyone know where else they have the chrome polished adapter?

That boot looks really good ... how easy is it to install?
Do you have to lift up the center console piece that surrounds it and has the hazard/trunk-release buttons in it?
Or does the chrome ring pop off and then the boot lifts up?
As far as the boot retainers shown in the opening post, isn't the black one polish-able to look like the first/polished one?
I thought I read on here somebody doing that ...

Yes, you have to take the center console piece out. But that is easy, just open the console and lift the back and it will pop up. Then you have a couple of switches to unplug.
Once it is out, you have a series of tabs that hold the boot in, this can be a pain to get all of them loose to remove the stock boot. But just take your time, the new one just snaps in it's place.
I seen post saying on the stock shifter shaft you have to shave a little plastic from the hole to go around the shaft. But I didn't need to do this on the MGW handle, it fit perfect. I also have a small 1/4 inch thick plastic washer between the ball and top that isn't shown in this picture.
I can take some pictures of the clips on the bottom of the console if you need it.

I believe Speeddawg ( https://www.speeddawg.com/ ) sells them too. Not sure if they look exactly the same as Grabberpony's. I think they only have frosted and black.
I plan on buying a **** from them soon. (GB w/ black 6 spd pattern and "5.0" on the side)
