Question Interior painting

Question...has anybody contemplated or seen where original interior pieces have been removed and have paint and clear coat applied? I’m leaning on this method vs purchasing a dash kit. Any advise would be extremely helpful…thanks…Lou

I'm on another forum and I've seen many people paint their interior pieces. It actually looks good. My husband has a jeep and when we went off roaring one of the other jeeps had done the same to theirs and it looked good.

That looks pretty awesome. Do you have a picture of it installed in the car?

Can I see another shot of the cupholder surround from the other side? I'm curious how hard it would be to tackle that complex curve.

I didn't do a complete Hydro Carbon replacement...I decided to go cheap and only did inner mirror covers, speaker rings and door lock pockets in Hydro Carbon...the rest I did using a carbon fiber dash kit. Overall, I'm pleased but not happy. Once I pay off my debt associated with replacing all my speakers, I will definitely be buying Hydro Carbon center console and radio bezel.

I’m posting some pics incase some of you out there in Mustang land has thought about using a dash kit to add to your interior.

On the switch plate, yes, that is a billet piece sandwich between the factory switch plate and the carbon fiber layer...I like that the high shine of the billet matched the chrome door handle and the chrome on the speaker ring.

I'm started doing this kit as well. Kinda pricey so it will be one piece at a time.

Each piece is priced individually...but if you order enough pieces at one time, JLT will usually cut you a deal along with free shipping.

Here's the website along with prices
