How many different dash trims are there?

Hey guys. I'm looking to buy some gently used dash trim pieces for my base GT since I got these stains on the passenger side. I don't know how they got there, considering I'm very careful with the car and who I let in the passenger side lol.

I used all sorts of cleaners, increasing in strength as I went. The only thing that would remove them was rubbing alcohol. Unfortunately that also left a smudged area bigger than the stains themselves!! The stains are barely noticeable, but I notice them now haha. I've been looking on ebay and there are so many different types of trims and I don't know what would look the best. Does anyone know how many different types there are? Could we get a pic thread going of the different interiors? I'm wondering what will look best with my 2013 all black cloth interior. I kind of like the aluminum ones myself. Thanks!!

Ebay has these from time to time. I had the aluminum one in my 06. Could not stand it. To many times it reflects the sun back at you. I went with the 401a interior that has the Carbon Fiber look.

Good luck

Thanks for the pics! Did the aluminum one come on any Mustang or are those purely aftermarket? The GT/CS looks so awesome, but everyone would be asking me what the CS means. Same with the GT500

I'll try to remember to take a pic at lunch today. I've never had an issue with glare though after nearly 45,000 fun miles.

If your are referring to the 401A dash, that was an OEM option that was part of the 401a order number alternative premium interior. It came with an aluminum clue ball shifter ****, California Special door inserts with ponys, and striped seats. Mine looks like this picture, but there were a few other colors for the stripe, or it also came in red seats with cashmere stripe too. The picture has what is called the cashmere stripe.

I love my 401A. I wanted the Red/Cashmere...long story, but I couldn't. I had considered having my Cashmere stripes replaced with red, but gave up that idea. I replaced the aluminum shift ****, and added GT embossed mats.

No glare issues with the 401A dash either.

I dig the Boss302 dash. It looks a bit like engine turned aluminum. Very cool old school hot rod trick.

Can I remove this trim without removing the airbag? How does this stuff come off?

That's what I have in my 14 400A coupe. It's my favorite of the dash options.

Nope, the airbag piece is "hooked" to the airbag. After you figure out you have to push it in to pull it out its fearly easy.

You just pull on the cluster piece. Remove negative battery terminal, because you have to diconnect the passenger side airbag. Remove the glove box, it has a few bolts on the bottom. If you have sync remove the sync module from below the airbag, it just clips on. Remove the to airbag bolts completly. Push the airbag out with trim. Disconnect the airbag. The two trim pieces left, the ones with the vents have a few bolts easily visible.
