GREAT Price on Pioneer TS-D6802R

Sonicelectronix has an these Pioneer TS-D6802R for only 79/pair. Crutchfield lists them for $149. Others have used these as front replacements, so I thought what the hey and ordered 2 pair, for front and back.

Should have them by Monday or Tuesday. Hope to have them by the weekend. Hopefully that will help with the, "muddy" sound that I am experiencing. I will assume that this is only the first step in, "Fixing" the sound. But, I'm not much of an audiophile so, hopefully it won't be too expensive to complete the task.

Let us know how they compare to stock. I've only had my car two days and I already hate the stock speakers.

Will do. A few others have put them in the front, and have liked them quite a lot. I hope that going front and back I will see reasonably significant improvement. I'm sure that I'm going to need to upgrade my sub situation at some point. But, this is a nice start.

Eric, interested to hear your opinion if putting them in the back actually makes a difference. most people who put them on the back say it's not worth the effort because the difference is minimal.

I bought a set of these and reviewed them in another thread. They not a bad speaker and sounds pretty good. The require more power than the stock speakers. I'm taking mine out and either sell them or put them in my Explorer. For the Mustang I'm waiting on a 2 sets of Polk Audio DXi 570 to arrive, which I believe I'll like better.

I drove around about a week before putting the rear ones in and yeah, ya kinda don't really need them but I like to hear the rear speakers. You have fade front to rear quite a lot because the Pioneers are not as efficent as the stock speakers. It really is subjective on should you replace the rears or not.

The MMs are probably closer to the Pioneers than the DBs from Polk. (Look at the frequency response). That said, I have the DBs in the truck, and they sound fantastic. I have not heard the Pioneers.

I just installed those Pioneers, although I haven't put the car back on the road yet, this week for sure, I did listen to them sitting in the garage and they made a very nice improvement. I also took the time to dynamat some the of door and added poly fill stuffing to the subwoofer. I added some weather stripping foam around to make sure the weather barrier doesn't buzz and vibrate, which did the trick. I was getting a lot of buzz from heavy bass. Hope you enjoy them.

I installed the Pioneer's this weekend - 101% improvement. The stocks were nasty plastic things that went straight into the dumpster! A cheap and easy mod that is basically a must even for non audiophiles.

Let us know how they sound. I'm interested to know which is best with the nav system. The doors were really easy to do on my brother's just FYI. You may want to look at adding some dynamite or fatmat to the doors. You may be surprised at how empty and bare the metal is. I bet it would make a huge difference. Both doors only take 30 minutes tops. It really is simple. I watched the JLT hydrocarbon YouTube video to see how to take the panel off. I didn't try the rear speakers, but heard they were tough. Just trying to save you some cash and off the advice of a sound deadener.

Speakers came yesterday, today I set an appointment to have them installed Thursday morning. I'm hoping for a significant increase in the clarity of the sound. We shall see.

Very positive change. Absolutely worth the money. I'm not sure how much I'm even hearing the rears, but ultimately a solid net gain in enjoyment.

First song I listened to was KANSAS "Carry On Wayward Son" next up QUEEN "Bohemian Rhapsody." Both were much more clear.
