Grabber Pony shift **** for 2010

I've got a 2011 Mustang GT on order without the Premier Trim Package. I'm deliberating on whether to order the aluminum shift **** from the PT package from Ford or getting a colored acrylic shift **** from Grabber Pony.

I know there is an older thread on shift ***** and there are some pictures in it of some Grabber Pony ***** but they are all from 2009 or earlier. The Aluminum Jam Nut/Boot Adapter is different for 2010 than previous years. I'm assuming 2011 will be the same as 2010 except for the shift pattern engraving of the **** itself. The Grabber Pony web site does not have any photos of their shift **** and jam nut/boot adapter in a 2010. So I'm wondering if anybody has a 2010 with this equipment and could post a picture.

Now I'm really confused. From the steering wheel, door panels, etc, that picture is a 2010 and the jam nut adapter looks like the one that they show for the 2005-2009. But they've got another page that shows a different adapter that doesn't flare out at the bottom that they say is for the 2010+ Mustang and Bullitt.

They will have to update their site to reflect that there are now two different 6-speed shift patterns, one for GT500, one for V6 and GT. Maybe when they do they will put up some more pictures and make it more clear.

They didn't have the '10 adapter yet when I ordered mine. It fits and looks great though. I am curious to see the new adapter installed though.

If the original one works with 2010 -- and obviously it did for you -- I wonder why they bothered changing it? What color did you choose for your ****?

I chose the frosted since the shifter trim is already chrome. I wanted to keep the mix of chrome and satin balanced like the rest of the factory trim.

Anyone know if the shifter ***** for the 2010 fit the 2011?

I've been checking the Grabber Pony web site almost daily, waiting for them to announce that they can do the engraving for the new six speed shift pattern. They have it! No pictures of a **** with the new pattern engraved, though. I'll probably order mine today or tonight.

I ordered the 2" **** in Kona Blue, with Satin Silver for the paint that goes in the engraving. I'm also having "Wildfire" (my car's name) engraved on the side of the **** that faces the back of the car. Frosted aluminum for the aluminum jam nut/boot adaptor.

What should I get for a Race Red car. I was thinking of getting either black with Torch Red engraving, 6 speed on top and a simple 5.0 on the left and right. Or I will get the same engraving, but have the **** be red and engraving black... Leaning towards the black **** with red letters. Really want the 401A **** but this way I wont burn my hand and I dont have to get a new boot.

Either of those would look good. If I could make one other suggestion, I might think about getting one of the silver metallic colors for the **** and getting Torch Red for the engraving. I like the idea of putting 5.0 on the sides, too.

They have it?!!

I've been waiting for the new pattern too! Don't want to shell out $150 for the Ford **** + boot.

On my way now....

Which adapter will I need? The 1" or .75". My Mustang has the regular plastic shift **** not the aluminum one.

You would want the standard 1.0" one. I was confused about this, as I mentioned in earlier posts. The .75" adapter is for those Mustangs that have the Bullitt style shifter or the 401A interior package with the aluminum ball shifter.

My **** finally came in today. It feels really good in my hand. Here are a few pictures. Hmm, looks like it's time to do a little dusting.

Here's one bit of warning for anybody getting one of these. Step one on the instruction sheet says "Pull down on the leather boot where it meets the shifter ****. It's on fairly tight, but once you get it to peel away, the rest comes off easily."

On mine it wasn't tight at all. I could have simply unscrewed the old ****. So I'd recommend trying to unscrew the **** first and not pulling the boot away from it unless it actually is holding onto the ****. I wouldn't want to see someone pulling on the boot until they see something happen and actually tear it loose from it's ring.

looks good..i assume you went with the 1" diameter?

how does the polished match the ring of the shifter bezel?

When clean, it matches the polished surround perfectly. That's why I went with it instead of the frosted.
