You guys Rock

Ok after being upset i did not get the factory nav for my car and reading all your post it seems the best is to wait for july and get a kenwood and idata link connector. If i were to go the factory route i have heard you need to get the unit programed at a dealer. Lastly where the heck do you find a OEM navi unit.

Regards,
Paul M.

junk yard for most of the oem nav stuff is the cheapest if thats the route you go. I will wait for July too and see if they come thru.

Been looking at the OEM route as well, but everyone wants CRAZY prices for the pieces. Going to wait for the KEnwood and Maestro Face Plate option as well. There are also a few other things in the works.

Quick update - according to Zach at iDataLink, it's going to be LATE JULY/EARLY AUGUST at the earliest before they're ready to start shipping the Dash Kit.

You do not have to get anything programmed. See the stickied thread about retrofitting the OEM nav.

Ford won't sell you a nav. You have to get it from a wrecker. I paid ~$1000 for all my components.

I was looking forward to the Maestro/Idatalink unit this month-guess I'll keep waiting but it may not matter since I'm one of the lucky ones getting furloughed for 11 days by our government-cut my spare money for mods to zero and have to see if I still have a job come next October.

I think the wreckers have caught on because now the prices are a little crazy. When you can find some of the stuff they want big bucks. The ones who give a fair price, you get a hold on, then a "I will call you back" and when the call back comes, there was a mistake in the earlier price, and the price is jacked up again.

I wanted to try the OEM route, but that route is seems to be nearly double than the aftermarket from the prices I been getting. I will continue to look, but I think I will be going the Kenwood route and I-Datalink pieces when they release the faceplate.

That is too bad. They seem to be rare as well. Shame the Ottonavi didn't work out, either.

Same thing happened with Metra & Scosche; a few missed target dates before release. At this point I'd be surprised if this thing came out before November. I've got the Metra 5826ch with an AVIC F920BT and I love it, even though the SYNC interface is not as intuitive as Maestro/Kenwood looks to be.

Got this off the iDatalink Facebook page-they say it will be here "soon, very soon". I really am looking forward to this and hope it works as advertised!

I agree-they are taking their time with the manufacturing of this-the new mustangs will be out before they get this to market. I've been reading about some issues with the DNN series of Kenwood GPS receivers in the Kenwood forum site, not sure if their just a minority or not-I cant find many recent user reviews on any of the 2013 Kenwood receivers. I guess if they do have issues I can always return them and go with a different brand but controlling the climate controls would be a problem. I still like this adapter and that extra storage below it. Anyone found any RECENT reviews of the new Kenwood receivers?
