Cracked Grabber Pony shift ****

Today I discovered a pretty large crack in my Grabber Pony shift ****. It runs about from the top center down the right side where it breaks into a couple different cracks around the thread base.

I haven't had it for too long now. Definitely less than a year.

Oh well, it's not a big deal. I was planning on upgrading to a weighted TWM **** so I guess this just moves that up on the priority list. Just wanted to share and see if anyone else has experienced a crack like this.

Mine's been running strong for years. I've had it on and off several times, installing different shifters and adjusting my MGW. Don't know what would cause a crack like that. Probably either over-tightening, or a bad batch of material when the shifter was made. In the latter case, I'd guess if you contacted Grabberpony they'd probably get a new one right out to you. There service has always been top notch.

I very well could have over-tightened it. Given how the cracks formed that's probably what happened. I suppose it's a risk with an acrylic ****.

Looking at TWM now, though, so I'm not worried about getting a replacement. I'm sure GP would take care of me but I'll take the blame on this one.

I don't think so... but probably.

I really just tightened it once when I first installed it almost a year ago and left it. So it took a while to finally crack.

Does the **** get hot on sunny days like a metal one? Or stay cool?

I'd get it replaced then sell it to offset the cost of your new one...
