Converted the Premium White Cluster to Black

One thing I hated about the premium cars was the white face gauges. The MYCOLOR of course is cool .. but I think the white face gauges looked way too cheesy in a very classy interior.

Picked up a Base Cluster out of junker (found on cars-parts.com) and swapped the overlay.

MYCOLOR of course still works ...and the faceplate is in 3 pieces so I was able to keep my center gauges too ...

You have to do a bunch of trimming if you want to keep the Halo Lighting. I figured it wouldn't show up well on black anyway so I didn't trim the holes for the Halo lighting.

That looks awesome. I also did not like the white face gauges from the premium cars. I like the gauges from my base mustang gt better.

I actually prefer the white guages on the GT Premium, I think they look much better than the base. That being said, I don't like the switch on the 2013s.

It's funny how we work isn't it? Most stangs had black face gauges and it was always a popular mod to install white faced gauges.....

So now Ford does them white from the factory and we wanna change them to black!!

Haha fun stuff!

The problem is they look like a 5th grader designed them.

What I'd like to see is a cluster that has both a 270-degeree sweep (or full sweep) speedo and tach, and relocate the info display and idiot lights to the radio display panel.

THAT would be killer.

I have the white overlays and necessary diffusers if anyone is interested in putting the white in their base model car.

man, if we could just get an overlay with the boss style lettering on the numbers (and not the radially aligned vintage stuff), I'd be super happy.

Color irrelevant, just that easier to read font, maintain halo and mycolor. I'd pay $150 for it, lol. For whatever reason the stock stuff is just a bit too retro for all the tech on the car as is.
