Child seat anchors for a rear facing car seat on a 2011

I know there a few folks who have rear facing car seats installed on the 2011+ mustangs.. was wondering if everyone is using a seat belt to secure the car seats, coz as far as I can tell, there are only two anchors and they seemed to be designed to be used with a car seat on that center hump

I didn't have a problem installing my rear facing car seat with the anchors. If I remember correctly, one of the anchors is horizontal and the other is vertical.

Did you check the owners manual? My 2011 manual describes child safety seat installation on page 153.

I did check the manual and it states that anchors are available, but I cannot find the "second" one. Even had the service guy at the dealership help me locate it and we could only see one per seat...

Hijacking this thread a bit, is it possible to mount a car seat on the center hump safely? I'm just foreseeing the challenge of a rear-facing child seat in the Stang and the center would make it easier I would think.

The car seat will crease the hump pretty good. I'm so glad she's in a booster seat now.

If you check out the manual I believe it explicitly states not to do this. That could have been for our Focus though. I don't think those two anchors are the correct distance apart.

Not really... that section is not wide enough to get a car seat in there safely and will not be stable, and if you intent to do that is to get more room in the front seats, that will not help, both front seats will be uncomfortable to sit in.

Not safe, put the seat on the p/s if youre the only one in the front, or the d/s side if you have someone else in the car to tend to the child.
