Do a search for swapping the buttons. I've seen write ups. I will say that the buttons carefully slide out of the housing and are not prayed up. Sounds easy right?

However, I've also read about many people destroying them in frustration because of their tight fit.

Here's the link to the write up on swapping the buttons out in case anyone else is interested. There's also a full write up on installing the Boss wheel itself. Doesn't look to be too bad to change the buttons out.

Awesome! I didn't know you picked one up. Bet it looks great in your ride. I recommend the gt 500 pedal covers next if you don't have them already. They look seamless together.

Just arrived for my car.

Have to follow the BOSS wheel thread about changing the harness for the cruise control.
https://themustangsource.com/f692/bo...-05-gt-501629/

Was about $270 Canadian total after shipping/taxes and UPS brokerage
(they should have at least bought me dinner)
BUT it's still cheaper than the BOSS wheel and STILL a steal.

Can't wait to install.

Installed my Boss wheel today. Awesome feel! Haven't gone to drive it any yet but it feels so great. The button swap was easy enough to do from my car which has sync already. Stock leather GT premium wheel was good, but the Boss wheel is way cooler! I love it. Also thinking about putting my premium GT leather wheel up for sale if anyone is interested. I reassembled it and its ready for straight plug and play in a Base non sync GT that either allows you to control the audio in your car already, or if this is something you're looking into getting the dealer to reflash your audio control unit for, then this wheel is already set up for you. Love my Boss wheel! GT/CS spoiler was delivered yesterday and will be going on this weekend probably. Can't wait! Boring Base steering wheel (no more)-image-74661046.jpg

Just an update, drove to work today with the new wheel, absolutely love it. Great feel. Leather was great, but this really feels great and gives the interior just a nice little subtle touch. Glad I bought it. Anyone else considering this or for those who haven't considered it yet, I think it's well worth it.

Installed it on Saturday in my 05.

FAN-TAS-TIC change to the interior!
Absolutely feels great. Glad I hopped on it when I did.
Anyone choosing this or the BOSS wheel won't be disappointed.

Didn't know they were compatible for under 2010. Do any buttons work? Nice!

Connectors are different.
And Audio doesn't work.

I spliced the old clock spring connector with the new harness so the cruise/horn/power work. In the future if I were to get an aftermarket radio I could use the unused wires and plug it into the spare connector on the clock spring.

oh wow, I had no idea that there is new mustangs getting equipped with steering wheels like the ones shown here as standard. mine is totally different, it has all these buttons and comes in the same leather as the seats are made of.

the material of this standard wheel really looks like 80ies plastic on these pics.

Will these gt500 steering wheels work with the premium(track app) and the elect pkg(audio control) equipped models?!

The buttons are different on the 13 with track apps.

Just comparing them, the 5-way is on the left with the cruise toggles, compared to just cruise on the 2012. I would think the harness would be different.

I would think you could get the wheel and just pop the buttons and harness out of the 13 and use the 2012 wheel.

Anyone else want to chime in on that?
