Anyone else having lots of trouble with door panel NVH/shaker500 cars?

I've already dynamatted my door panels once, primarily the plastic portions because they were resonance monsters, but even after one full door kit used (4 sheets), I still have problems.

Now the resonance is noticeable from the seam on both armrests 2/3 back on the plastic panels (seems like two parts are joined there and are vibrating on midbass)

Also, the bottom corner of the extended area behind the door subs vibrates very powerfully. That HAS to be coloring the sound (you can feel a surprising amount of excursion of the plastic during playback, feels just like touching a live woofer cone). I'm going to get back in there with another door kit, but I'm wondering if every time I reinforce a section that I'm creating a spot in another section?

I covered the back of my door panels including the outside of the woofer enclosures with 1 layer. This cured pretty much all my door panel resonance's which were pretty bad without the dynomat. Could it be the window switch panel that's vibrating.

I also have the same problem. I covered the metal parts on the doors and the rattling now comes from around the door handle.

No, I've isolated it down to these parts:

I have pretty fully covered the plastic panel with dynamat, but I'll buy some more and see if I can add some more to those areas.

I started with only an 18 x 18 inch sheet of dynamat for each door. Used it only on the metal sections that looked like they would vibrate and around the 6 x 8 speaker. Upgraded these to the Pioneer 68xx, forget the number but its their 2 ways everyone seems to like. I then used Grace Ice and Water Shield over the entire metal frame before I put the plastic shield back on. I also put the butyl vinyl on the subwoofer enclosure and added more stuffing. After I put the plastic shield on, I put the foam weather stripping tape here and there on the plastic shield to hold it solid between the metal frame and the inner door. I have to say I can crank it up pretty loud and have no buzzing or vibration. And the bass really sounds good .... when sitting still. Not enough SPLs for when your in motion with all the other background noise.

My 2nd box of dynamat arrived, we'll see how it goes. I'll use half this box to try to tackle those problem spots, then give it a week and use the rest.

Still no luck. I have a few sheets left, but really starting to think about giving up on these, turn down the levels and try to find a trunk sub to take the brunt of bass.

I had a rattle under bass in those areas you highlighted. Turned out to be a loose window switch panel, so you may want to start there.

My rattle turned out to be the switch cover plate as well

yeah, I can put my hands on the switchplate but in my cases it doesn't make any difference. When I put my hands on the other highlighted spots, the timbre changes and either the buzz or rattle is reduced.

I'm going to tighten up the switchplate mounts anyways to see if that gives it any more structure

I just found an old thread about this and bumped it. So many people are having this issue and Ford is doing nothing about it. The dealerships are all claiming it to be normal. Ford Customer Relations refuses to cover repair costs outside of the Dealerships.

I brought it to a local sound dealership (http://www.soundconcept.com/) who work on EXOTIC cars. One of their techs sat in the car, messed around with my sound system, went for a ride with me and told me that this has got to be the worst manufacturing on door panels he has ever seen. He said it's outrageous that Ford doesn't fix this. I'm putting some serious thought into a Class Action Lawsuit after he mentioned a similiar thing happened to some Suburu's and customer's won a Class Action Lawsuit against them. I'd need a bunch of people willing to do it.

Bahaha are you kidding?

Class action because you don't like the sound system? Hilarious.

Bahaha..

You mean to tell me that you're going to file a Class Action Lawsuit because a company refuses to fix an issue with your cars sound system, that should be covered under the standard warranty, that wasn't there when you purchased the vehicle, that is due to a design flaw, that is now apparent to both you and every service techinican that sees the car?

Yes, I'm kidding you.

I also failed to mention that the service manager (at one of the three dealerships that verified the issue) sat in my car, immediately heard the rattling, told me he would call me in a few days and let me know what he could do, then called me and told me that the required repair could not be done because Ford would not authorize it or reinburse him if he did it.

Speaking from experience... try another dealership. I went to 3 dealerships before I got some help with my door rattling. They are VERY opposed to opening the door panel unless they are sure they'll get paid. They never do it speculatively... they have to hear the noise for sure. I'm shocked that dealership wouldn't open it up after hearing it though.

Ford put a bunch of foam in my door because of this issue.

The dealership who fixed my driver's side window solenoid also scratched the door panel, and put some some cuts in the steering wheel that I can feel with my hand when driving .... grrr. They refused to replace them despite the fact that my car was flawless inside when bringing it in. I'm going to make sure they at least let me buy the parts at cost.... ****ing ridiculous. So when I replace those scratched parts and install all my accessories, I'll get the car dynamatted hoping it solves my rattles :\

Just read your posts in the other thread and it sounds like you've already gone to other dealerships and run it up the flagpole. Unless there's something you're not telling us, this is pretty bizarre on Ford's part... once they heard the rattles in my car, they've happily foamed up my door to stop them (quick/cheap fix). Honestly I've mostly given up on chasing rattles and just told myself I'll take care of them with dynamat or replacing the panels. After all, all Ford techs will do is try to listen for the rattle for a few minutes of driving, fail to hear it, and tell me they can't touch the car. I've had limited success getting them to hear and fix these rattles, but that said, each time I had to take my car in 2-3 times and be without the car for 1-2 days each time.

I'm prepared to have my whole car dynamatted.

I've brought it to three different dealerships for a total of 7 times. They've taken my panels off, installed "anti rattle stripping", claimed the noise was a loose air duct on a few occasions, verified the issue every time even after those repairs and still the issue is happening just as bad if not worse. I think I'm owed something at this point. Oh, by the way, they've never drove my car to verify the issue. They just sit in my car and hear it at the dealerships. Not to mention it gets worse when you drive or weather dependant.
