Will a bigger tire fit on stock rims?

So I have a CS and I belive that's a 18x8.5 wheel. I was wondering if it's at all possible to fit some 275s all around with that rim. It seems like it's stretching it but I wanted to know if it was possible. I really like the look of that rim but I want fatter tires.

I wouldn't on an 8.5. 275's are already pretty wide for a 9 inch rim.

The biggest tire is a 255 safely on them. Anything wider and your playing with an accident

Well i'm pretty set on 275s so looks like the stock wheels are out. Thanks for the the informaton guys.

Next question, in everyone's opinion: Would Silver RTRs or Black RTRs look better on a ingot silver GT/CS?

Your stock GT/CS wheels should be 19", if that makes any diff.

Recommended rim width for 275/40/19 is 9.5" with an acceptable range of 9"-11".

You could put them on a 8.5" rim but performance and wear would suffer.

The 275/40/19 is about the same diameter as your stock 245/45/19's so your speedo would remain unaffected.

A 255/40/19 will fit just fine, this is the size tire that comes on the V6 Perf Pack cars that uses the same basic wheel as your GT/CS but it would be about .7" shorter.

I think silver would look sweet on ignot! I'm kinda partial to the silvers though.

Any place that could do a similar paintjob as the GT/CS wheels? Silver face and charcoal accents?
