I was wondering how to replace the GT emblem with the Tri-Bar version. Is it 3m taped in? Can you just pry the old one out? I don't want to just start prying and break it, if it is attached another way...Thanks. The new one I have includes the silver piece that says FORD on the bottom.

 

New one includes the chrome part w/Ford on it

 

I heated it with a heat gun and gently pried it off. Not too much heat or you'll damage the paint.

 

Someone here posted a tutorial on how to get it off. IIRC there is a lot of tape and two studs that go into the trunk itself. While it is your car, just wondering why you are replacing the GT with the V6 tri bar.

 

Tri Bar is also used on the Boss.

The new one, TriBar, is about 1/4" thicker than the GT...Is the base it sits in different on V6 and GT cars? Tribar s a ford part....

Is it possible the emblem changed between Gen 1 S197 and Gen 2, and you need the Gen 1 piece?

Cool. What's the outside diameter? Is it one piece, or separate outer ring and tribar?
