Tinting in VA.

Will be getting my driver and passenger windows tinted, as well as my rear windshield, probably this week. Legal limit is 50%(which sucks) in the front, and 35% for the rear.

Any suggestions for tint %, I do a fair amount of night driving, but still want a dark tint.

I've also heard the Mustangs come with a very slight tint from factory.

I have 20% (drive in VA often) they don't bother me.

I'm probably going to get the darkest legal tint, and I've heard that Mustangs come with a 90 or 95% installed.

probably, but my parents want it done at a dealer, so illegal tint isn't an option...

well if mommy and daddy have a say in your car.... then you're SOL. either way, dealerships tint cars all the time. well i mean....... they outsource to the same person you would have gone to anyway if they do at all, and will gladly do illegal tint.

Sadly, they do either way, I'll probably ask for 35 or so for all the tint. I do night driving, so I'm not sure is want darker than that on the windows. Can you post a picture with the tint?

perfectly fine, it's not like my windshield is tinted or anything, and at night people have their lights on anyway.

since my car is a vert, the top is down as much as it can be, so i don't always have that as an issue, lol

ok, I'm mainly concerned with looking through the tint at the side mirrors when I need to change lanes, and stuff like that.

are you new to cars or tinted windows?

One cool thing about tinted windows is that they look dark to the observer outside, and not all that dark to you inside.

Like i could be at a stop light during the day and just be staring daggers at the person next to me and they'd never know because they don't really see me but I see them clearly.

i never believed it till i had my first car with 20% tint. I'll never have a car again that isn't tinted, i can tell you that with certainty.

I'm new to tinted windows. I've never had a car with tint. I have a friend who practically has Limo tint on his V6 mustang, I can barely see him during the day, he says he has no problem seeing out. I've never been inside a car with any kind of tint.

From a practicality point, I'd never tint darker than 20%, and any lighter than 35%. 50% is so light it's barely noticeable, and 5% is so dark, you can't see a thing.

I'll probably go with 25-30% tint then.

I would go no lighter than 35% if you can get it.

Does anyone have pictures of 25 or 30% all around? That's what I'm thinking of going with.

Do the tint shops have sample cuts of the percentages? We are going today, so I need another answer soon.

your options are:
(from lightest to darkest)
70%
50%
35%
30%
20%
15%
5%

at least that's all I've ever seen.

however at the vast majority of shops (due to popularity and commonality (especially if matching old tint) you'll find:
50%
35%
20%
5%

I'll probably go with 30 then. If I see a cop I'll just be even more careful

I wish Mississippi allowed 20%. We go 28% all the way around so 35% plus the stock tint does not break the law here. But that is light for the gulf coast sun in my opinion.
