Small Plasti Dip Mod
I've always been a fan of the CS valance because it removed that stripe of color across the bottom of the GT Valance. Well, when I heard about plasti dip I thought I'd give it a shot at covering up that stripe of color. Here's some shot of the process and the results. I like how it turned out. Could have done a cleaner job, but it was my first time with Plasti Dip

That actually makes a difference! I had my doubts but that looks really good. Nice creativity!
WOW really looks good!
Looks good man. My buddies love plasti dip it's a good product.
Btw what kind of rims do u have? They look like black brembos but can't tell. |
Well done! Made a very noticeable difference for being such a subtle change!
What guys? No confidence?! :p I mocked it up in photoshop before I did it so I felt confident it would look good. Since the PlastiDip is more of a matte finish, it blends in perfectly with the other black plastic.
@DaSFGiants4Life - They are black versions of the brembo package wheels. Ford calls them the 'Black Track Pack' wheels. I got them from LateModelResto. Next up might be the horse in the grill, but we'll see. Thanks for the compliments! |
Nice! I thought about doing that but got the cs valance instead. I want to do the side emblems and possibly the chrome on the fake gas cap
Awesome idea!!! Genius!!!
Dang that looks nice! Its always those little touches that set a cars looks off, and you hit that nail right on the head.
Now im really stuck between the saleen bumper/grille and the stock gt front fascia. :dunno: |

Are you planning on removing the emblem or newspapering the entire rear of the car? |
your car is amazing!
Very nice
if my car wasnt black I would do this
love it. i never liked the body color showing there on the gt. if i wasn't trading in my car next week i'ld do the same
Brilliant! That looks pretty sweet. Kind of a GT/CS vibe. :hail:
Its almost a perfect match to the factory plastic!
Thanks everyone!
@CCTking - I'd still have to go with the Saleen front if money wasn't an issue :) @Studly_Studright - I really like the look of those pasti dip'd. I just don't know if I would want to cover the whole thing or leave the GT in silver. @2012GTCS - It is ****-near perfect. Was definitely lucky in that aspect. We'll see how the color holds up to the sun and elements over time. If you plan on doing this, I'd recommend lifting the front end some how. I did this in the gutter you see in the picture laying on my backside. Was definitely not the easiest, but it did work for my limited resources. |
I want to do my faux gas cap with Plastidip. I was thinking it would be better to remove it and spray that way as opposed to newspapering the whole
Rear. Do you think it'll be a pain to get back straight or If there will be any sticking problems once it's removed?! Anything not fitting perfect will annoy the crap outta me lol |
^ I actually tried it this summer and just news papered the back of the car. It worked fine...I forgot to take a pic because I only left it on for a few hours
