painting stillen chin spoiler
Hey all,
I recently purchased a stillen chin spoiler from sterlinggrayarcher here on the forums, who btw is an awesome guy to deal with and can't say enough good things about him. Anyways, I want to paint this chin spoiler my factory SGM color. I no there is a website that sells spray paint of the factory color. However, my dad owns and runs a few paint stores and we got talking. He said even though the color may be a perfect match it wont look identical because of the way the factory color is spray on at factory. He went on to say that it will look slightly off because its coming out of a spray can and not a sprayer like at the factory. Obviously i want to believe him but i still believe it will look like factory. Does anyone have any experience on this? Here's the place i would get the factory matched spray paint from. http://www.automotivetouchup.com/spr...t_matched.aspx Oh, he said he would give me the primer and clear coatfor plastic but obviously doesnt carry sterling gray metallic ford colored spray paint lol.

Yeah I kinda figured he wouldnt steer me wrong. Sort of like how he said don't spray your vents with that **** plasti dip when its cold or else it'll bubble and ripple, no dad itll be fine leave me alone what do you no ... 1 hour later f*ck dad it looks like **** .. told ya so son. Anyways, I guess ill see what the dealership will quote me on painting it or to a private paint shop close by.

will do, pictures will come as well. It probably wont be for a while because the chin spoiler was just shipped out today and its coming from vegas and im in northern jersey so according to fedex itll come wednesday the 24th so ill probably give the dealer a call by the end of this week or next and see whats up! Thanks for the help and boosting my dads ego,
