Question Olive drab exterior ftw?

Hey everyone, i've been thinking about a theme for my GT and I've always been keen on matte colored vehicles when done right. I was watching an old top gear episode on netflix and saw an olive drab car during a wide-shot pan of the lot they were using to feature another car. I paused it and was transfixed.

I think the natural lines on our car, its overall attitude and beastly-ness would lend well to an olive drab exterior but I want to make sure I'm not going batty and would love some feedback. Attached are a few shots of various matte green/olive drab cars that I've found via google images including a Stang.

I should also add that my license plate reads "STND DWN" hehe.

I would remove any emblems if I went that route.

I don't much care for it, but it's not the worst thing I've ever seen. I think the Mustang pulls it off better then the Lambo or Audi.

I wouldn't make it TOO matte, either. Just a little shine to it would be best I think.

Thanks for the feedback. The car would be totally stripped down and done properly by an amazing shop in Philly, nothing half-a$$ed. My knowledge of paint/clear-coat capabilities is severely limited but I would think a slight shine would also make it easier to maintain as a DD. A slight shine would be nice for sure.

Sorry. That olive drab on any civilian vehicle looks like crap. Just my opinion. Now a matte black, grey, silver etc will probably look good especially if done right. American Muscle did a matte white finish on their MMD Sema car. Matte orange may even look good. However it seems that you have your heart set on OD.

I agree on the matte black/dark gray but it's so played out.

I think it looks pretty dang sick just the way it is. All flat black trim really sets it off. I'm really digging this scheme. Go for it. Only thing I would change is a less busy set of wheels. Something with smoother lines.

I'm on the fence how I feel about it.
I think the Audi TT looks insanely good though. Probably because of the black wheels to offset the color, the stance and the great wrap job.

Id say get a nice set of five spoke wheels and do it. Looks fantastic when done right. Theres a few matte wrapped cars here in town including some TTʻs, a few mustangs, and Imprezas all in various colors. Havnt seen olive drap yet but white, black, an almost Grabber Blue looking color, and a dark red. White looks best to me, black is just super stealthy, but that Olive Drab color would look pretty good IMO

I know on the DipYourCar site they have an olive drab color and they have a kit which would provide everything you need to do the whole car. Its a somewhat tedious process but you could do that first and try it out for a few days to see how you like it as well as get some opinions. If it were me id shell out the extra money and try that out first. But again thats just me

I think it would look better with good paint/clear then dip or a wrap.

The issue with a wrap is my car is a DD and the front would get thrashed by debris after a few thousand miles. Knicks and such aren't covered in the 2 to 3 year warranty which is standard on a good wrap job. I know of a few folks who've learned that the hard way. Wraps on a DD end up turning into a nightmare maintenance problem and nothing looks worse than a failing wrap job, they are common in Philly.

Yes do it. But dip it, lot easier and reversible. It will give you the same effect you want for 1/5 the price of a paint job.

Thats if you get it done at a shop. Although it is doable on our own i would recommend professional dipping just for quality reasons. Plus they have better resources available
