New hood, how to paint
if they can't match the paint perfectly then they will have to blend. I went to 4 places recently for estimates to have my hood painted and all 4 said they would have to blend. 6 yr old paint tho.
You probably won't have to blend on a brand new car, especially Race Red since it's non metallic. You really only need to blend on metallic/pearl/faded paint, as Glenn suggested.

#1. What hod did you get and who did you get it from? Reason I asked is cause Cervinis puts a really nice gel coat on their hoods which bodyshop love cause it makes prepping easier.
#2. Are you planning on painting the top and bottom!? When I had my CobraR hood painted form Cervinis the gel coat was a gloss white which almost matched the stock white perfect, so I only had the body shop paint the top and left the bottom gel coat!

I paid $430 to have mine painted on both sides. They didn't have to blend, they color matched it perfectly. Paint on hood is better than factory! Owner did cut me a break on the price since we are both car enthusiasts; I drive a GT500 and my wife has a Roush, he drives a ZR1 and his wife has a ZL1.

cervini's states 5 days in the sun or bake at 140 degrees for one hour. I called them and told the the weather wasn't all that warm around here. He stated just leave it in the sun longer then. The heat from the engine helps too. I drove with the hood on for at least 7 days plus I had it in a oven at 125 degrees for about 2.5 hours.
