Under Hood Lights:

I have installed lights on almost all my cars so I can see the engine compartment at night time. I installed an on/off switch on my Mustang to turn them off if I ever take it to a local cruise-in.
Next I will install a light in the glove box - can't see a thing in it a night - can't even find the flashlight. Might even try to light up the little console.

What bulbs do those use? Have you considered using an LED bulb?
I switched out all my bulbs for LED, much crisper white look (as opposed to the yellow) and a lot brighter.

Cool tho, no one has done this yet.

The underhood lights use bulb 912 and the glovebox and console lights use bulb 194. I don't know much about the LED's so I use what I have. Are the LED's available at places like Advance Auto?
online at the site if you go with the WLED-XHP in pure white they'll brighten it up very nicely. Or the WLED-xHP5 will really shine through for the engine bay, as it's in a 360 degree light source.

And just to show the difference in the stock light to the LED... the license plate light on a 2010.
and the reverse lights.

the thing with that one tho, is that it's only rated in cool white and warm white. You'd want the natural white. which is what we perceive to be white. as opposed to the cool being more of a blue hue and natural being more of the yellow... Altho, considering it's a grabber, the blue effect may be a nice touch.
But yea depends on the housing as to what shape would fit...
otherwise, if it's too fussy there's really nothing wrong with keeping the look you have.
