Lasercut Myself a New Grille
So I decided that I didn't want any of the available, overpriced grilles that didn't allow me to keep my rally lights, so I made my own. I made the file on Adobe Illustrator and had it laser cut, added yellow tint to the rally lights and called it a day.

It's very cool that you fab your own stuff. However, I'd be concerned with the amount of area you've lost for cooling. Even if it is the same surface area, you've narrowed the actual space, so airflow won't be as evenly distributed across the radiator. Any plans to open more of the grille up?

:It's because we are aesthetically NOT used to seeing a vertical slotted grille. If you continued the slots as close to the rally lights as possible, clear coated black or silver it would unify the composition a bit better.
Right now that square area is the focal point but has no relationship to the other parts of the design. Roughly, it's about the same size as your rally lights combined. This causes aesthetic discord. You need either a focal point or a dominant object.
Visually, you are making the viewer compete for where they should "hook" their eyes on.
Respectfully.

How about if you just left the entire area open and then just install black grill mesh in the open areas? That way, you'd have a nice black-out and have all the cooling you could ever need?

Kudos for trying something like this on your own.
How about spraying the silver condenser with some black radiator paint? Then it wouldn't stand out so much.
I'd also think about adding more slots for cooling and to make the grille look less jeep-ish.
