Keeping the Roush side splitters clean?

Now that I've got wider tires up front(275's), dirt and other crap is getting kicked up and funneled through the splitters and causing a buildup in the spokes of the rear wheels. I really don't want to put on mud flaps, but I think this may be my only cure. All I've found is the GT500 ones for the rear, anyone find any that fit the front?

It wasn't as bad when I had my unlimited car wash package and went every couple days. But with the new wheels, I don't trust the rails the tires go through so now I just go to the do-it-yourself wash on the weekends.

I like some of the Trucarbon pieces but they are just too expensive and once you put one Carbon fiber piece on you have to make the rest match. You could easily spend $1000 on just exterior pieces. I bought these.

Im not sure how they are going to look. Once I received them I realized that they are just pieces of ABS plastic cut to fit our cars. Now Im not sure if I even want to install. But functionally I'm sure they will work. I started to install them and realized that I would need to remove my wheels to do it and decided that was a project for another day (it was late).

For the love of GOD do NOT take your car through the wash with the rails. That will eat your rim alive. Especially a wide rim, and ESPECIALLY an RTR wheel, with the spokes that curve outwards. Any automatic car wash system should be completely touchless, in every sense of the word. The only thing to touch the car under any condition or wheel orientation should be water/soap, air, and cement on the bottom of the tires. Dont trust their "non scratch brush" either. "It's soft, it wont scratch the paint", uh, if its rigid enough to remove caked dirt, its rigid enough to scratch man.

That was directed at the car wash guys, not you. As far as keeping them clean? Nope, just washing. Flaps will increase drag and may cause splatter. I noticed with mine, sometimes I get street grime/tar on my DOOR! Thats from the wheels throwing stuff up. With the stockers, that never happened. Oh well, not a DD anyways.

I totally agree. I'll only go through an automatic wash with the stockers on.

Did auto wash before the RTRs but did go through with boss splitter on. Paid a plumber to fix my out door faucet so I can wash at home. Best 125 bucks spent on the car, can't beat washing at home.

No, I haven't yet. Been super busy and jacking the car up and removing the wheels just to install these splash guards hasn't been a priority. But I may have some time to do it this week after wednesday.

I've been considering these too. Is it necessary to take the wheels off to install?

Probably not on most cars but Im a big dummy and put a 275/40/20 on the rear cause I was scared of messing up my rims on these awful Louisiana roads. So when I got the tires for the rear the 275/40's were the only tires the shop had in stock that would give me enough rubber between the rim and road. Next time I won't be in a bind to get the tires on there the same day and ill get like a 295/35. But right now I only have maybe a inch and half between the rim and fender. Its so close I coudnt even use my 1/4 inch ratchet with the phillips bit on it to remove the screws. Its all good, we are supposed to be getting a tropical storm possibly this weekend so I'll just spend the day in my buddys shop. Been wanting to take the wheels off and wet sand them and throw on a few more coats of clear coat anyway.

Gotcha. That is a tight fit. I was wishing I would've went bigger than my 275/35's to fill in my rear wells. I want to do 285/40's next time.

Did you get the guards yet? How do they look? I'm afraid of them looking cheap or just shy of a naked lady logo on them lol.

Well that's the thing. I have received them and all they are is just flat ABS plastic with a textured surface cut to fit our cars. Im going to install them anyway to give them a chance but i think they are just going to look like some plastic pieces stuck to the inside of my wheel well. Not molded and shaped like the GT500 splash guards you get from the dealership. So i dont have much hope for them. Probably another reason that putting them on hasnt been much of a priority for me. To be honest they are pretty cheap looking to me. But, im still going to install and take more pictures than the Ebay page had and post them here so you guys can choose for yourselves. Someone may think they are awesome. And if thats the case they can buy these from me, cheap! LOL

Finally!

A little pricey, but may be worth it. I want to see them on a car first.
