Installed MMD Classic Louvers

Finally got the MMD Classic Louvers from American Muscle delivered.
Quality is good.
The paint match is spot on.
The edges of the louver fit in the groove between the window and body.
They are smaller and more flush to the car than some others which was what I was looking for. IMO they are closer to the old fastback look than some other types that are on the market.

The backside is not painted and kind of an ugly black plastic color. I painted the insides blue to match the car which looks much better when looking at them from the inside.

Visibility from the inside is better than I expected.

They look like Ford louvers. How do they attach?

I would have suggested 3M Velcro so you could remove them for cleaning. You won't believe the gunk that gets on those windows.

Didn't know about the velcro.

Do you think it is too late to remove and reinstall with 3M velcro without damaging them?

Nope, not too late. Just let your car sit in the sun awhile before you try to remove the louvers from the windows. I would also heat up the back side of the glass with a hair dryer to make it even easier to take off.

I can tell you from experience, it is a big plus having your louvers attached with 3m Velcro. It is very very strong, but you can easily pull it off to clean the windows.

You will get all sorts of nasty hard water spots and junk behind the louvers and it is very annoying when you are inside your car.

Do it, you won't regret it.

I have stock louvers and I can't really see any of the dirt build up because I can't see out of those windows.

I also had wanted the scoops but after looking closely at them they seen to be really bulky to me. I think these louvers look great. I am disappointed they are not painted on the inside.

Yeah I want the smaller ones. I think they are called "vector" scoops. Or maybe even just the window cover to match the car off am. Haven't seen anybody with those yet

the gunk on the window is why you can't see out. Lol

I love those! One of the things that turns me off to most of the louvers is that they generally stick on to the painted surface of the car. I had looked on the AM site at the louvers before. If they had bothered to add a description telling about how these fit to the glass instead of the body, I may already have a set!

Nahh they just don't have much of an opening to even bother looking through. You definitely can't see the window from the outside. From the inside, it gets a little dirty but again hardly noticeable because of the lack of light coming through.

Your new MMD quarter window louvers look awesome Banjostang! Love the color of your Mustang, too. Blue or White is my favorite color for the S197 body style... good work!

I'm still on the fence on which louvers I want, in one hand I have the louvers Banjostang put on (DIB as well) and in the other I have the Elanor style louvers. I like the looks of the Elanor louvers a little better but heard they make considerable road noise.

It wasn't difficult to mask and paint the insides.

Since they are made by American Muscle you could request a set with both sides painted. i'm sure that they would work some kind of deal for you.

But honestly, with the shadows they create when looking at them from the inside, you can see that they are blue but not enough detail to tell that they aren't a factory paint/clear coat.
