hitch mount bike rack

I know there are some here who will claim blasphemy and I need to trade my mustang in for a nissan cube or something, but I love the stang, enjoy riding my bike and am tired of putting it in the trunk. I'm not a 40-year old virgin

Allen bike rack - $80 from amazon, Curt mfg hitch - $120 from amazon

okay well first i will state that this is something that i would never get for either of my Stangs. Second, if this is what you want then by all means go for it. since i live in Germany i see all kinds of vehicles with bike racks on them so it's a norm for me to see. Germans LOVE their exercise. heck i see M3's on a daily basis with something like this on them. go for it, if this is your passion then why bother to listen to other people's opinion. personally i have respect for people who do stuff to their cars that the majority wouldn't. that's what makes you unique in the end.

If there was a small dirt bike trailer or possibly a jet ski, I say it would be acceptable. You may have possibly taken all of the cool that your mustang had and flushed it. Might as well be a neon with that bike behind it. IMO. With all due respect.

2010 stang bike rack

I will be doin that install too as soon as the temp gets down into the 70's here in the desert. I also love ridin my bike....now stop n think, install or buy a Ford Ranger to haul the bike around...I would say the rack is somewhat cheaper. Now wouldn't you say!!!!!

I've also looked into getting one that is easy to remove if needed. My son and I love to ride bikes and also cruise in the Boss so this brings both passions together.

Who gives a crap what others say.... I know I don't. However, if they are making the payment for me..then I will do as they wish. Takers?? I thought not....guess I'll just do what I want to my car then.....

I put hitches on most of my Mustangs....including my current one. I carry the wife's wheel chair when she needs it for a long day out. I also pull a trailer with a golf cart when I need to.

These are cars.....not glass objects to be looked at in awe. The hitch does not hurt the car if not abused. Ford even says it is ok..... Not everyone wants or can afford a vehicle for every need that arises so in order to have a sweet car....some things must happen. It is really funny with mine because people will comment bad about the trailer but when the wheelchair is on, they comment how ingenious it is that we can still take the Mustang when the wife feels bad. There are a bunch of people racing that will cause more damage by doing stupid things than what a hitch causes.....

And...opinions are different. BTW, we also own a '96 Eddie Bauer Bronco.

thanks, While I would LOVE to be able to afford a beater truck to put a bike in, I am just a poor teacher so the stang is all I can afford. So I will make it as practical as I can.

I think a trunk rack is going to be the next mod I make ha ha ha

Man, put the bike rack on the stang and roll out. Lucky for me I have an explorer to haul the bike around. If I didn't the stang would have a bike rack, period.

We started selling the Thule line of Bike Racks at the beginning of the year and were pretty surprised with the number of customers coming through.

The Thule 9006 has been pretty popular since it is easily removable and doesn't harm the paint.

I LOVED my luggage rack on my 74 roadster. No room for the backpack in the trunk that's for sure because of the fuel tank!
