Gt500 spoiler

I just got my gt500 spoiler painted to match my car and I was curious if anyone knows what these smaller holes are for where the flap is going to connect in the back. It looks as if they are for rivets maybe for a race look or something so If anyone could shed some knowledge it would be appreciated

We're those rivets in the Gurney flap originally there or did your body shop add them? I see that flap was modded for a back up cam?

Also, is that spoiler OEM?

It is oem yes. The gurney flap is not on it yet so you are seeing what beneath it looks like. Those rivets were there from ford, the body shop did not touch it

Mine was like that also, my thought was I heard it was a adjustable gurney flap and set screws were placed in those holes to raise it up, thats what I heard anyways just stick that flap on there. Oh how much did they charge you to paint it, mine was $130.00

Gotcha. No worries as long as the rivets are covered by the flap.
Remember to let the 3m tape on the flap cure since it will be under extreme wind. I stuck my flap on a few days before the instal and left it inside where it was warm.

I also would instal the wing in a warm garage if possible.

Oh okay. Yeah it looks normal. I wasn't worried but I was curious what it was. It was 148 to paint. Did you install yourself? I have a spoiler delete so I'm going to have to drill. Curious as to how the experience is

From the pic, It almost looks like the flap was already on. That's what threw me.

I did install it myself but the holes were there already, be careful and make a pattern and don't forget that spoiler overlaps on the back of the trunk lid, just thinking of the pattern.

The OEM gt500 spoiler comes with a big old drill template. It's very accurate. 3d carbon does not come with one.

Okay great yeah I have the template, I wasn't sure how good it would be though. But that sounds easy enough with a good template

I put the prepainted AM GT500 rear spoiler on my '13 GT. After you drill the holes in your trunk lid double check to make sure the holes line up before pulling the strips off the tape. I hade to slot 2 of the hole in my trunk lid to get my spoiler to bolt up. Looks good though!

Couldn't wait until Saturday so I did it last night. The template was terrible, the only thing it was good for was protecting the paints finish. So I went with my own eye and made it work.
