Hey Guys.... long story short I have a set of 20" Forgestar F14's coming my way. The rears are 20x11 +53mm offset. I purchased them used and didn't realize the offset may not be ideal. What are your recommendations for tire sizes? Will I run into rubbing/clearance issues with a 305?... thinking of a 295 will be best. I want a flush fit, will this offset stick out to far. Any one have experience witht this offset? Purchase is made so I am just looking for some comfort in my purchase.

Suspension isn't modified yet, but I have Koni STR's and Steeda Sports in the garage waiting to be installed.

You will be fine with the offset. Its perfect for running 295 or 305.

 

I think the offset will be ok. I'm really debating switching to these from my RTRs.

 

Thanks guys. After much review, I feel more and more better with the purchase. The rears will be here next week. So I will be able to measeure and be sure. Can't wait for the fronts to be here. I was told 4-6 weeks, but hear it maybe longer. I hope not. Can't wait to get these babies on, they are sweet looking.

I went with 20x10.5 with +48. I am sure you will be fine.

 

what is the optimal backspacing for them being flush with the fender with like a 295/305?

Forgestar doesn't deal with backspacing, you want to use offset. Can you derive one from the other, yes you can but talk offset not backspacing to them.

For Mustangs I see 42-45mm offset for 9.5" wheels and 52mm for the rears.

For my M3 I'm going with Forgestars F14s as well as you can use the OEM cap. Going with 19X10 ET25s running a 275/30/19 and a 19X11 ET33 running either a 295/30/19 or 305/30/19.

I meant offset, my bad, used he wrong term...My RTRs are like +33 in the rear. Id love to have the fat tire without the bulge look.

 

Anyone know the weight difference, rim and tires, with the 20's vs stock?

I'd Like to do wheels on my Boss to save the stock rubber, but don't want to add any weight in the process, even if they look sick.

Bill the Boss wheels are uber heavy. If you were to run Forgestars in Boss sizes or even a +1 they would be lighter by almost 5lbs a wheel.

Hmmmm. Dave, I see your getting 19" Forgestars for your M3. Could you weight them and PM me with the results if you don't mind? I realize they should be lighter, just interested in knowing how much and comparing to my wheels/tires.

Who has F14s in stock without having to wait months to get them?!?

 

More than that; try 8 or 9-lbs lighter.
The stock Boss rims are 32(f) and 33(r) pounds a piece. My Forgestar CF5s weigh 24-lbs a rim: 19x9(f) and 19x10(r). I talked to a Forgestar rep before I bought my rims who said the F14s are about 1-lb lighter than the CF5s.
