Do these Fog Light kit help at night?

The head lights on these new mustangs are ok. After tweaking the height adjustment it helped a little but would like a better night time experience. Having traded my Mazda 6 (great head lights) for this mustang, which of coarse I love, I'm seeking to improve it with fog lights. How good are these kits?

You want driving lights....not fog. Fog is for low, close lighting....driving is for long distance lighting.

Yeah I noticed that even with stock HIDs , the lighting is not that great compared to my Acura or Toyota... Then when I lowered it, it made it worse lol. Might have to readjust/raise the lights. Is that done pretty easily?

very simple to do....a Allen screw(Blue in color) at the back of the bulb assembly. Can't remeber the size something like 1/4 inch

Yes I know "fog lights" do not have the projection of driving lights but the kits are easy to install and do look nice. The GT grill route is expensive still.

Any of the pre-13 models have less than stellar lighting. I pit silverstars in on day one for my car, or at least was goin to until i realized i have to take off my front bumper to do the swap. However i think adjusting the height on the light would help out alot. Ill probably do that before work tomorrow if i can reach the housing without removing the bumper

I want to retrofit the 13 heads and tails onto my 12. So bad.

They meant the stock HIDs only. You have halogens correct?

What I did mean, is indeed the stock HIDs on my 12 are not that great. Maybe the stock HIDs on 13+ are better. But on my 12, the stock HIDs are terrible compared to other stock HIDs like my Infiniti, Acura, or Toyota...

The factory hid head lights on my 2011 v6 are pretty good, the factory fog lights are pretty weak and i think, are mostly just for looks.

This is what I was wondering....more for "looks" than use. maybe the GT style in the grill driving lights are the only real options other than updating the headlight units to 13 HID.....both expensive

Not sure what you guys are talking about. The 2012 HIDs are great, too. No need to change them on my car.

Does anybody know if you are able to replace the bulbs from the stock 2013 v6 fog lights with led bulbs (direct plug n play perhaps?)

My brights suck...

I agree about the headlights. My GT is a 2012. It didn't come with the HID (and I don't think they can be changed out. Correct me if I'm wrong because I would love to have them.)

My problem is that the low beams are nice and bright for an acceptable distance, but when I switch to the brights, they're like totally lame and weak. They go out a long distance, but the light is very dim. Do they just need adjusting or does everyone with the stock headlights (non HID) have this issue with the bright lights?

Thanks for any help here.

2014 Mustang HID

I have the 2014 Mustang with HID headlights and enjoy them at night 10 times better than my reflector headlights I have had in my other vehicle. I also have the Tech package so then I have the FOG or bacially the lower lights that LED. I can turn them on and off and not see any difference at all. So what I am looking for is can I convert the LED lower lights to something with more Lumen Output and also stay out of the white light band so they will work in "foggy weather".

You can replace the bulbs for the stock V6 with LED, Problem is replacement LED bulbs are designed more for the appearance then they are for their performance.

So is this what you have? The lower fog lights?

If that is the case you can always go with a HID kit to actually add output if there is LED in there. I am not sure how well the GT fog lights perform as LED.

Has anyone ever thought about changing the bulbs on their stock HID's and putting more of a 6,000 kelvin rating which would make the light more white and probably produce more lumens light out put?

My 2014 is the same....but those LED's output is terrible..but against the HID's mains.....I can not ever see them when they are on....I found the only good for them is for showy with markers only in early evening or late morning.

So i take it ford put them on there to match the headlights but little to no function what so ever?

According to the literature they are LED instead of a Halogen based lamp. So basically against the HID's, they are worthless.....kinda of thought of.....hey we need to put 4 things in the Tech Package....Oh yeah, LED lights for fogs would be cool....so I figure that is how they made it there. I have replaced all lamps that are incandescent with LED as in dome, side markers, license plate, trunk light. I have not done the turn signals yet as I wonder if those are the voltage sensoring system for burn out. But those fogs are LEDs....little amount of lumen output at all. I am exploring HID's in their place.
