Removed the California Special side stripes. Installed gloss black hood stripes, finally got around to painting the chrome 5.0 badges. Also lowered the car with the Eibach Pro kit and installed an adjustable pan hard bar. Not bad for a cold morning in the garage

Wait what? So you had the side stripe and the 5.0 badges on it at once?

Don't they sell the 5.0 badges already painted black? Wait, I found them:

Those are the ones i originally bought and they looked horrible. They look fine from 10 feet away but when you get close they look nasty like it has swirl marks. I tried painting them but cheap plastic just absorbed the paint so i ended up tossing them and buying badges that were already chrome then painted and cleared them. They turned out amazing.

Should have found a 302 badge instead or a runner.

Like what you've done. Black on white is excellent. I have the cheap plastic 5.0 badges myself and they look great from a distance but up close I have the same swirl marks. One day I will get around to getting some new ones. I may even put the chome ones back on unless I can find a quality set that are black.
