carbon fiber engine dress up started

Well I started to dress up my engine with carbon fiber. I am still awaiting the engine cowl, coil covers and fuse box cover. I could not wait to start so I did some already. The engine is a little dusty but the final pictures will be detailed out. here is one before and two after.

Guess it's for some people, but the hood is only open on my car when I wash it and check/change the oil, so dress up items (appearance only) are a waste of money IMO.

Now if so called appearance items are tied to an upgrade, like new wheels so you could install bigger tires, ok, then you really get a 2-for-1 deal, function and appearance. If you install a CAI and you opt for the CF tube, another 2-for-1 deal.

I agree with you except there is one thing you did not think of. Some of us go to car shows and show our cars. Last year I took 4 3rd place prizes. I am shooting for 1rst and 2nd this year. with the engine dress up and the new stripes I should do it.

A little here and a little there. list of sights I visited, CJ pony parts. Brenspeed, American Muscle, Kirbanks auto. Maybe even Ebay. just search the web.

The best way I found to find parts is do an image search. more often than not it has a link to the sight selling it.

I don't know if the car show crowd has changed but 20 years ago, your car had to be different to the point of being either way over the top or borderline ugly to win. Your car looks good to me which is bad. That means your mods are still tastefully done. That wasn't a recipe for victory back then. hope things have changed. Great looking bay. Good luck at the shows!

Got the final piece I needed for my engine dress up. The chrome 5.0 fuse box cover was to much so I switched it out.

That is a tough one because I did not keep track. I would have to say the radiator cover is. the battery and brake cylinder are. And I believe the engine cowl is but not sure. They all look the same on the front and back. I do know you can get them in either or. Since the weight is not an issues it was the look I was going for.
