Billet stubby antenna help - install pix or videos?

Hello all,

I searched for my question before posting, but did not find the info I was looking for.

We have a 2012 5.0 GT that we special ordered early last year. We've done a few small mods to it, such as striping, tint, and coil covers, and are ready to do something new to it for 2012.

I am looking at the Billet Shorty Antenna from American Muscle:

Antenna: http://www.americanmuscle.com/4in-sh...enna-1012.html

Install tool: http://www.americanmuscle.com/t67-antenna-tool.html

I have zero experience installing something like this, and the fact that a special tool is recommended makes me even more apprehensive.

Has anyone installed one of these on a 2010 - 2012 Stang? If so, can you share your experience, and hopefully pictures or videos of the install process?

I would like to perform this mod, but I do not want to do anything to mess up our Mustang.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

I went with this one from BBR: http://www.blowbyracing.com/20mubbrbian.html

Note it comes in black or billet aluminum.
Unscrew OEM, screw in the new one. Can use a cheap rubber strap wrench from hardware store on antenna base to avoid scratches.

I love the BBR shorty... best <$40 mod

Easy unscrew and screw on. Good in that it's simple installation, but bad because anyone can take it off.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was looking at this one too from UPR Products too for $37: http://www.uprproducts.com/mustang-b...-10-black.html

And I figured I would throw these valve stem caps in for good measure: $14.99 http://www.americanmuscle.com/valve-stemcap-50.html

In the end I decided to go with the billet stubby from American Muscle. I had also posted this question over on All Ford Mustangs and a rep from American Muscle actually replied directly to my post. They assured me installation was easy, and provided a phone number for me to call if I had any issues. That level of customer service helped me make my decision, so thank you to Chris from American Muscle.
