20's in the rear, 18's up front. Is this a wise thing to do?

I've honestly seen a few pics of S197s over the years with 18/20s and some of them pulled it off. It's all about the right stance, offset and tire choices. You need to have a bigger tire out back, but not such a small tire up front that it looks awkward.

Don't let the haters get to you. Btw, the car in my avatar is a V6, but that's not by choice. I'm not even driving it right now anyways - apparently because it LOOKS fast, the chp wouldn't leave me alone, even though my dad is retired PD and my license plates are registered to the POA. So I'm driving an Escape now (one chick car to the next hah) and plan on rebuilding it into a track monster (complete with Cobra motor), then eventually getting a new fully loaded V6 stang as a daily driver.

Welcome to TMS btw!

It doesn't lol. Just giving you a hard time. What bothers me is ppl see 305 HP and immediately think its a hot rod that can handle hard driving and fast speeds. Just cause it has 305hp doesn't mean its a hot rod. It's still designed with dd and gas mileage in mind.

i know you are. i couldn't agree with you more though. It is a DD but it is a fun one! the only time I pull out the "305" card is when someone calls it a chick car or says it doesnt have "real power" lol. The majority of the people on this forum will never respect the new 6, and that's fine, just an old school mindset.

+1. I don't like different size rims on cars.

I work for Ford and I respect the v6. There is a 600hp procharged one here in fort worth.

What's your opinion on the procharged 3.7's? Obviously it makes more sense to start with a 5.0 but are the internals capable of handling FI?

This guy is pushing right at 600 HP on the stock block with stock internal. I don't know how long his engine will last but that is the fastest mustang I have been in. It left a 2011 gt500. He is running straight ethanol on 20 something pounds of boost.

He has money and he don't care. If it blows he will rebuild it stronger. I'm waiting to see how long it will last. So far 5000 miles.

I guess I was a bit harsh on Mikona1 myself and for that I apologize. I thought you were one of these clowns that drop in here from time to time with some oddball question or request. I just couldn't imagine anyone wanting to go 18/20 on the same car at the same time.

No need to apologize.

I am a total noob. I purchased my mustang 2 months ago. Never owned a muscle car before. Just trying to learn as quickly as possible so I don't make mistakes or waste money.

I know there are real experts on this forum and people like me can be frustrating.

I will try to ask better questions in the future.

The first thing that popped in my mind was "Plymouth Prowler"! They used 20's on the back and 17's up front. That is a different kind of car though. I thought that car made it work.
