But, I decided to remove my flat center panel since the tail lights are concave.
You put side markers on the bottom of the diffuser? What are you trying to make it look like a 2013 now? Take those off, that looks dumb.

The 2013 taillamps do not have reflectors built into them. That is why he mounted some in the lower valance. It's a measure of safety to keep some moron from running into the back of the car when it is parked. That is the entire purpose of them in the first place and they are required equipment in most states.

I am sure Ford artificially raises the prices so high because they know people are going to want to retrofit so they do what they can to make greedy profit from it. Oh yeah and also to make a greedy profit from insurance companies too.

No, I made it look like a 1970 Boss Tribute car back in June of 2010. Well before Ford even came out with a Boss. After they did, I decided to use thier gas cap rather than have one that said GT

The reflectors are there because the law requires rear reflectors and the 2013 taillights have no reflectors in them. I didn't like them either, but I rather be safe

Thanks! It was the only thing I could think of to meet the law requirements. They may not be pretty, but they are low on the fascia, and fit perfectly into the slot.

Alright, gotcha. I thought they had refectors in them because in the pic it looks like they do. I guess its better then nothing. Maybe theres something out there that has the black plastic look so it doesnt pop out as much and is still reflective?

If I was making a retro Boss 302, I would :

0) Remove the fender "5.0" badges, as they distract from the stripe.

1) Change the faux gass cap from the LS part to the tri-bar-pony (V6?) part.

2) Replace the rear panel "302" badge with red vinyl that reads "BOSS 302" (to match the side stripe) with "BOSS" being positioned over the "302".

I actually am changing the stripes to black reflective, more in keeping with the 1970 Boss 302. The only reason the 5.0 badges were use, is that there are 2 holes in the fenders. The new stripe will be twice as thick, so I am hoping I won't need the badges again this time. Also, I have removed the rear panel completely, since the 2013 taillamps are concave and line up well with the rear trucklid.

I was looking at your pic some more....wouldn't your third brake light act as a reflector?

The third brake light does not have a reflex pattern in it to reflect light. If you examine any reflector it has a pattern of small multi-fasceted surfaces designed to catch light from many different angles and reflect it to your eyes.

The new 2013 LED taillamps do not have a reflex pattern made into the lamps, therefore a separate set of reflectors is required to comply with DOT standards.

New Stripe

After a year & a half of the red stripe, I decided to change it. I was originally making a 1970 BOSS 302 Tribute car, so I went with the stripe I wanted originally. A reflective black 3M Side Stripe. In the shade, it's hardly visible, but in the sun and at night it really shows up.
