2013 Rear Decklid Panel on 2012 ?

Its got me thinking I'm sure the trunk on the 13's are the same as the 2010-2012 so has anyone thought about putting the Gloss Blk panel on there 10-12 Mustang ?

I believe the panels are bolted on, so if you willing to drill holes in your 2012 body panel, it probably will work.

Are you sure? And how are you sure? I recall someone posting that they're bolted on in a past thread.

You can do it BUT have fun keeping it swirl free

Same here ... I know they have 3m tape on them but Ford also bolted them on if my memory serves me correctly.

i looked into this a little

called my ford parts man and he said 12 and 13 trunk lids have different part #'s

now that does not mean that they are different trunks

anyway, i just decided to paint mine gloss black while they were painting the spoiler

The trunklids would have different part numbers if they put a few holes in it for the decklid panel fastners...

^ this.. the trunks lids are the same and interchangeable but they have a diff p/n because of the holes for the panel.

Sounds good I found also found this Meguiar's G15812 Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer on Amazon pretty cheap so I should see that in the next day.

man...someone REALLY needs to make an aftermarket '12 style rear bumper that has the same mounting and matching recessed areas for the '13 tail lights. This would be the best of both worlds. That black plastic around license plate on the 13 is pretty tacky. I've noticed this more and more lately.
