2013 Mustang V6 to GT w/ Fog lights swap

Hey there everyone,

Trying to figure out how to install the GT Grille with fogs on to my V6 Mustang. A friend of mine had some take off parts from his 2013 GT that he gave to me, one of which being the upper and lower grilles and the fog lights to go with the upper. Right now everything is separated out so I need to figure out how to attach the fog lights to the grille, then go from there. I don't think I'm missing any parts for everything to go right on to the car (still need to get the interior switch and the wiring harnesses), but when I place the fog light against the grill I can't see how they attach to the grille itself. I will try to post some pictures later, but any help I can get at this point would be great.

Thanks a lot!

The upper grill won't be a direct replacement for the v6 grill. You will need to have the GT surround. That replaces the chrome surround that comes with the v6.

I looked into doing this swap myself and that's an added cost that added up to too much money for me to try. At least you already got the grills and fog lights.

I think it already has the surround on it... the whole unit was a direct pull from his mustang

You're missing the vertical brackets that attach the fogs to the headlight panel. Did you buddy do the CDC grille? If so, he most likely cut them out to make the grille fit. If he did a different grille, look through the grille on his car and you should see two plastic strips that run north/south, about 1" wide.

That could be problematic... he doesn't have the car anymore so I won't be able to tell what the case is on that one... is there a work around for that?

Not sure but I would bet those brackets aren't very expensive. You could hit up White Bear Ford in Minnesota and ask for Mike R. He sells Ford parts at 10% over cost to forum members.

My brackets were not in any way attached to the grille. I can remove the grill with the lights still in place.

Yes exactly, they probably stayed on the car that the grille and fogs came off of.

No, they're already on every single Mustang. They are not required, the V6 and Boss already have them.

So basically I have the brackets already on my V6 OEM grille? That makes things easier I think. Has anyone done anything like this before on their cars? Is there anything I should be aware of before I start? How do the fog lights attach to the grille as it is? Everything I try to put them together it doesn't look right. Where do I attach the lights too?

The brackets and lights attach to the supports in front of the radiator. They are I'm no way attached to the grille. There are three bolts for each light, I believe two of which offer adjustments.

When I pulled the bumper cover off of my '13 GT to install the ProCharger, the fog lamps were attached to the grill with three screws each. I unplugged the wires and the remained attached to the grill. It was the same for a friend's '14 GT as well.

Excuse me, I misspoke... It's been a while since I added mine. The bracket connects to the bumper/grille but it's already installed on every Mustang and the grille insert can be removed while leaving the brackets and lights installed... Or all removed at once depending how you do it.

Regardless, this bracket is already present on all 2013 and 14 mustangs. Go look at the Starkey conversion kit, and note the picture of everything included. That bracket is not there because it's already sitting behind your grille.

That makes me feel better then. I was starting to wonder if I was missing something that could complete the install. Now I just need to find the interior switch and wiring harness and I'll be good to go.

I bought used off of svt and the seller started 2013. Your pics had me curious so i ran the part numbers and its for 2011 12 so it's different than the 13 14s. Did you go online and look up a parts schematic which should show Whats needed.

dont mean to hijack this post but i have a v6 with the lower fog lights already and the GT grilled on (did the halo rings where the fogs go instead) . If i were to want to get the GT style fog all i need is the actual fog lamps and wire harness that converts the H11 bulbs to the LED ones and thats it right since you guys are saying that all 13-14 models have the brackets on correct?
