2013 or 14 GT mufflers on a V6
Buddy has a 2014 V6 and wants to buy a set of take off 2012 or 2013 GT OEM mufflers.
Will they fit??? Is it a direct bolt on and will it make a noticeable sound change??? Thanks for any help...........Joe

The pipe diameter is definitely larger on the GTs. I purchased a set of slightly used 2013 GT mufflers in hopes they would bolt on, they don't.
If your buddy happens to be anywhere near SE Michigan, he can have my mufflers and have a shop install them (cutting and welding required to change inlet diameter).
They are just taking up space in my garage.

Pipe diameter on the GT/GT500 is bigger than V6. As others have mentioned you'll have to get it cut and welded. It'll have big sound difference but since it's axle back it will only have minimal performance gain.
I have the GT500 quad on my V6

I have a 2014 gt with the gt500's on it and just had the resonater's cut off. Sounds great. I searched for 3 weeks on youtube to see what kind of axlebacks i wanted and i love the gt500's. No drone at all nor with resonater delete's

If your buddy has an automatic V6 he can swap them for V6 manual mufflers off a performace package. The tips are a little different and the mufflers seem to be a bit louder. I just removed a set if he wants to make an offer. I replaced mine with Gibson Performance mufflers and love the new sound.

The automatic transmission cars have resonator tips which quiet down the exhaust and remove some of the 'burble/popping'.
The manual transmission cars do not have a resonator tip which allows for a more aggressive exhaust note.

They won't be a direct bolt on. You'll have to take them to a shop and have them modified. The GT exhaust is larger diameter than the V6.
I would imagine an exhaust shop should be able to install the mufflers for 50 bucks or less.

Suggest you try simply removing resonators with no muffler modification. Probably will get some more sound and the resonator removal should be cheap at a muffler shop.
GT mufflers are quiet - if you're going to upgrade, find a set of used GT500 mufflers and get those installed, maybe in addition to resonator delete.

From what I've heard in person, the gt500 mufflers on a v6 don't really do much either. Roush sounds great on a v6 and they're cheap too. When I owned a v6 I had borla s types and they sounded really good.

I wouldn't remove the resonators and keep everything else stock. Removing the resonators on the v6 doesn't work the same as the v8. It will be louder but you might get some drone and will def. Get some rasp. Now with the right combo of aftermarket parts removing the resonators could work to make it louder and/or sound great. Ask me how I know You could also just get some Borla s-types or Mag streets which both sound awesome on our v6. If your looking for low cost go with GT500s. The GT axle-backs will be little to no difference from stock.
