2012 Boss 302 stripes on Race Red GT
Ever since I was a kid, I've loved the '67 Shelby 'Eleanor' that we saw in Gone In 60 Seconds. Naturally, when I finally got my '11 5.0 'stang, I wanted her to reflect that. So I have Eleanor louvers and Eleanor rally racing stripes. I get nothing but compliments and my car is never the butt of jokes. I feel that people over think a lot of things before enhancing the look of their cars (granted, some don't think enough) and end up inhibiting themselves and their cars. I think boss stripes w/o lettering sounds like a great idea.
They were originally used to indicate the nationality of the racing team in international races. The US was blue/white, and that's why you see so many Cobras and Mustangs using that color combination. Also take note that all 1965 Shelbys where Wimbledon White (a bit creamier looking than what Ford uses today), and if they had Le Mans stripes, those stripes were Guardsman Blue (the color I used for mine).
Funny story - I was in a car show last weekend, and an old guy (probably in his 50's/60's) that just bought a 2008 Shelby came over to talk to me, and during the conversation, I mentioned that the car was garaged when not in use, and he said "I don't believe it - look at your stripes - they're faded". We then had a short conversation regarding the color of blue they were using on the newer cars. He was completely clueless as to what Guardsman Blue even was.

Not at all. But you added that comment as a personal swipe at me...since I am the only one with that on their car. I could have made plenty of comments about some of the crap you have done to yours but I don't say anything if I have nothing nice to say. I guess I could lower myself back down to your standards once again....

Oh man... I thought MCA was cheesy enough to begin with. BOSS MCA is in another league. That's right up there with boss light and gt-tp.
I am all about personal taste, but for me personally, I would never want my car to be the butt end of any joke, so I don't go against the grain too much.

btw...it's really too bad that somebody comes onto this forum asking a question and we have the same few members that run around bullying others and mocking them on their choices for their car. I'm sure many are discouraged from sharing about their cars too because of fear of the bullies on here.

If I'm not mistaken, the op was asking about boss graphics, and he got a mixture of replies, I gave my opinion that lettering wasn't cool, but the graphics are. I personally think boss graphics are great, just not a fan of lettering, especially if its not a boss. I'm not a mustang purist, or even really an enthusiast. I just think lettering is lame. If you call that bullying, then that's fine, you can hate on my opinion all you want because unlike you, I don't care what others think. It seems the only people that like lettering like this are the people that already have weird lettering, or are mis-badging their cars.
Yeah I know. Especially the one's that send middle school level private messages in return.

Oh...and you make a comment about a "middle school message"? yet you post this?
"You're such a baby! I guess GT-TP suites you well, considering you need your *** wiped all the time."
You seem to have a short-term memory in terms of both bullying and what "middle school" messages really are.

Mis-badging was a part of mustang history.
Are you an advocate of participation awards?
My opinions are in no way superior, they are just opinions. Really...I don't think I'm special.

I've never been called sensitive before, I kinda like it.
