2011 Blackout Panel w/Stripes question

Does anyone know for sure on a 2011 GT with the vinyl stripe package and a decklid blackout panel whether the stripes extend all the way under the blackout panel?
I want to remove the panel and put on the faux gas cap with the tri-bar pony logo, but I'm not positive that the stripes go all the way down.
The dealer seems to think that they don't, but I don't see why they wouldn't. The only way to tell would be to pry up 4 or 5 inches of the bottom of the panel, but that would pretty much ruin it.
So has anyone removed a panel on a car with stripes?

Found the answer

I'm replying to myself. I found the answer and at least on my car it was "sorta". The narrow outside stripes went all the way down the trunk but the wide center stripe stopped an inch or so below the top crease (where the curve starts).
But some tape and paint and it's all the way I wanted it.

That really looks clean and classy. I have factory OTT also but did not get the deck lid panel, I felt it would disrupt the flow of the stripe. I have a light colored car like you and really think they look better without the deck lid panel. I like the panel though on the darker colored cars.

Now that I see you swapped out the boring GT faux gas cap with the tri bar pony one I think I want to do that also. Do you know what the part number is on that ?

Thanks. I really didn't like the blackout panel, especially with the stripes (the 2010 on the right side of my garage had one on it and I took it off too).
Here's the link to the site where I bought the tri-bar gas cap.

Yup thats where I get some of my stuff also. Prices are pretty reasonable on some things. This little mod is going to cost me 105.00.... a little unexpected but worth it I think. Thanks!
