2010 GT to V6 front end swap
2010 GT to V6 front end swap
Hi
There are not my pictures. They are pics I found here on this forum from 2014. But that thread did not really answer my questions. So I swiped them to give illustration. I am hoping that someone knows these cars bodies enough to help me figure it out.
I love the GT front end look with the fog lights built in the grille. My car is just the 2010 V6. I have considered grabbing an upper grille with the fog lights from a salvaged GT, but it is my understanding the grills will not interchange, there is a different placement of the clips between the two. However, I did find another forum thread where someone said it can still be made to work anyway by just forcing it in and a couple clips just will not attach.
Then I got to wondering, what would it take to make it work the right way? Getting an entire bumper cover from a salvaged GT? This may be a better option anyway, because I could then shop for a lower spoiler and I think there is more choices for the GT than the regular V6. Plus, my current bumper has massive scrape damage on the underneath and my current spoiler is mangled. I found a salvage yard about 250 miles that have the entire thing that is my silver color already, saving me from having to paint anything. I would make the trip to get what I want. But it is too far just to guess at things.
The top picture is (probably) what I currently want, and
the bottom picture is (probably) what I have now.
Does anyone know if these entire bumper covers will just interchange? I am sure someone somewhere has done this swap.

Off topic I just installed one of those Amazon touch screen stereos and that thing rocks. Even though the instruction were mostly chinglish, I got it figured out. If anyone else is ever considering one it;s a worthy upgrade from that stock radio which mine broke and just said mustang all the time
