Top end vs low end

I am mind boggled the my 2010 v6 has no top end but I have a ton of low end, is it my tune or the the performance parts, other thing is my car idles at 900 rpm is this normal it is a custom tune, should I get my car retuned?

900 is what my 2v idols at when it's cold outside before it warms up. How high did it idol before the tune?

What did the car idol at before and then after the tune? Your posts are a bit confusing.

Your use of "idol" instead of idle is confusing.

I think what you ment to say was "before the tune it was at 1000 after the tune it idles at 900"

No way a V engine idles at 100 rpms.

The mods I've done to this thing it wouldn't surprise me but it idles at a round 900 to 1000 rpms my question is is this taking away from my top end, I just want to try to balance the low end and top end

Your idle at 900-1000 has nothing to do with the power curve. Did you get a torque tune? That gives more to the low - mid range part of the curve (but less to the top end). Whereas a performance tune adjusts ignition timing, variable valve timing (if the 4.0 has it), Air/Fuel ratio to provide more to the upper end of the curve (but less to the lower end).

Did you change your gear ratio's when you added the tune?

Now you're on the right track. Take it to a qualified professional; I don't think you're up for the job by yourself. Idles @ 100 RPM?

Sounds like the timing in the tune may be a little off. Lots of low end and no top end. Also headers and an free flowing exhaust will help adjust your torque curve towards the high end. Will rob a little off the low end though. Headers will require a new tune though.

The idle discrepancy here is just confusing. Anywhere between 550-900 should be fine depending on the tune.

I don't think a V engine is capabile of idleing at 100 RPM's Please note each small line represents 100 last time i checked... I'm with the rest of the crew it seems you have a tune issue you may wanna have the tune checked.. just my .2

Mine idles at 650rpm. You can set it to any rpm you want to in the tune before loading it to your car. I had the timing set wrong, didn't have any low end torque. I changed the timing to 0, has great low end torque now
