Stock intake question
Quick question... Is the stock intake for the manual and auto the same? I am going back to stock bc my check engine keeps coming on but don't have my stock intake anymore. I am trading someone my JLT CAI plus cash for their intake.

Want to make that stock tube sound just like the CAI's that are sold? Use a dremmel tool and cut off that silencer. Then use fiberglass mat and resin to cover the hole. Then sand it smooth after the fiberglass cures, paint, and re-install.
Take the Mustang out and hammer it. You get the same tunes, (and the same airflow as 99% of the CAI's being sold for the V6) with your stock air box setup.
I did it. Works great. Even use it with my 93 octane MPT tune.

I've read your other posts Bucko and am following your advice... I'm sticking with the stock intake and K&N filter (after old one gets dirty).

I was trying to find a solution to modify the stock tube as well but didn't find any(SLP is making that kind of replacement for the Camaro, but not for the Mustang)! I am not sure, if cutting of the silencer really does the job. I ordered the K&N and I am going to paint it, I don't like the look of it. But I think without the silencer it will outperform the stock system. The disturbence of the airflow kills some power, about 3-4hp, and that will be eliminated by the system. If you wrap the tube with some kind of insulator you might improve the intake temp even further.
