Rev limiter
Does the v6 have a rev limiter on it?
|
Sure it does, all cars do any more.
6850 soft limit, 7000 hard limit. |
So can you bounce it off the rev limiter without damage to the engine (warmed up that is)? Not that I'd make regular use of that lol

Ya got a bit late on an upshift on the onramp, got up around redline, just curious if it keeps you out of the danger zone on its own. Didn't intend to let the revs get up that high.

Guys with tunes up their shift points to 7200 or better and up the rev limit to 7400-7500. |
It's fine if you hit the rev limiter... BUT the rev limiter WON'T save your engine if you were to mis-shift... Say from 5 > 2...

I can confirm from running a 05-09 gt that yes indeed on stock programing the 3.7s hard limiter is 7000rpm:) My buddy has his raised all the way to 7800rpm in his 4.30 geared muffler delete mmr intake bama tuned 3.7 :)
