I'm happy for you. Your going to poop when you install one. I can't run the factory tune anymore because the car feels so slow. I have two 93 octane tunes. A mellow one (by choice) from Gus (Steeda) and a hard core tune from Evolution Performance.

Let us know how you like them when they come in

I'm sure I will. The UPS tracking shows an ETA of 12/1.

The tuner arrived today. One day earlier than scheduled
Loaded the 93 performance tune and took the car out for a spin. Quick first impressions. The shift points are noticeably different and will take some getting used to. The throttle response has also improved and the tune appears to have cured the annoying lurching that occurs when shifting between 1st and 2nd. The drive to and from work tomorrow will probably provide a better insight to the new set-up. Very happy so far and can't wait to load the race tune

I told you 'you will poop your pants' . Its cool when you 'bark' the tires when it shifts into 2nd gear with the automatic, with the traction control 'on'.

Another observation about the tune. I had the low fuel/50 miles warning light before I loaded the tune - I think I was down to 46 miles. When the ECU rebooted it showed 60 miles to empty. After I filled up the computer showed 358 miles to empty on a full tank of gas - an improvement of 30+ miles from standard. Will be interesting to see if the tune also improves gas mileage.

I think I'll load the race tune tonight and give it a try Will remember to wear a pair of clean undies and try not to poop myself

To be fair, my 100% stock 2000 GT convertible does the exact same thing, with the occasional bark to third..

I'm going to order this tuner from American Muscle after my exhaust mods. That is a fantastic program for free tunes for life.

I like my 3.31's but if 3.55's were an option, i think i would have gone with them. With my 3.31 ratio, at 60 m.p.h. the engine is only doing around 1,735 r.p.m. I think 3.55's would still be a good highway gear

Thanks for the info. I figure since I bought my car off the lot and it came with the 2:73, if I change it, I should bump it enough to notice the change. My Shelby GT has 3:55 gears. The SGT upfitters package had them swap out the stock MGT 3:31 gears for 3:55. 3:73's are nice too, I remember driving an Army fleet F-150 pickup in Iraq that had the 3:73's and thinking "this thing jumps compared to my Shelby Mustang". Gears can really make a difference in just the way the vehicle feels. However, I think the 3:55s will make a good compromise in still trying to keep some of the driving comfort at highway speeds.

If you are gonna spend the money for gears and pay someone for install put in at least 3.73s.....4.10s in an auto.... The difference in fuel between 3.55s and the 3.73s is nominal but the performance improvement is substantial..... And 4.10s again fuel economy is decreased slightly for a major improvement in performance. My gts stock gears got ditched and I bought 3.90s and I tell ya the performance is unreal. I bought a sports car and now own a rocket ship. If you are gonna spend the money go big. And my city mileage improved by 5 mpg which offsets the 2 mpg highway loss for an enhancement that is unreal. If I knew when I bought the car that gears woulda made this much of a difference it woulda been my first mod. If anyone ever posts what their first mod should be I am telling em point blank..... The gears and tuner combo from American Muscle

Heck the car has a 6 speed transmission. The more I think about it (edit - based on everyone's helpful feedback), 4.10 is the way to go.

We get about 27MPG highway with the 4.10's in our auto. We got 26.8 the day that we went to Cecil County Dragway and ran mid-11's with bolt-ons and 4.10s and high 10's with a baby shot of NOS.

4.10s, FTW

AMChrisRose: Thanks and impressive. On order from you guys. Can't wait to feel the difference.

Everett: Thanks but I don't think 3.27 or 3.31 are enough of a change to justify the mod. I do appreciate the offer.
