Not real happy with my SCT tuner w/canned tunes
I bought an SCT X4 tuner from a local JLT Performance store, I don't know if it's the heat, but it just feels a bit underwhelming. From power output alone, I can't really tell a difference with the 93 octane tune, and I've always ran 93 octane, stock. The only difference I can tell for sure is the shift firmness, the 1st to 2nd shifts pins me into the seat, but that's about it. So far I don't think this is worth the $400, and I should've ordered it online from AM or other reputable online stores that can load custom tuning on it from the get go. If I take it back I'm out $100 after restocking fees.

Well, for $100 you can get an MPT custom tune or $150 for tunes for life at AM and Steeda. Ya live an ya learn, but not all's lost. You've got the tuner, so I would'nt pay them $100 to restock it. Use that money to get a custom tune and move on. We've all made mistakes, but it's not the end of the world. Let us know what you end up doing

I love my Steeda tune.
It's worth noting that a tune on the V6 isn't going to make a huge difference power wise. It's a bit noticeable (especially at lower RPMs), but where it really counts is throttle response, and in the case of autos how it shifts.

I talked with someone earlier today at a reputable shop about custom non-dyno tunes. He may be able to hook me up with a tune much like how BAMA, MPT, Steeda etc, does their stuff. AFAIK, this place does a lot of work on Mustangs. I saw they had a 2013 GT500 on a lift with the engine sitting under it, was told the owner had a goal with that car to put down 1200hp.

This is going to be unpopular with some but dont get a Bama tune. My new Bama tunes for my 3.7 suck...I think I actually lost power when I installed my shorty headers and new tune
Very, very disappointing.
