I felt same way when I got rid of my 2:73 gears and put 3:73. Totally different beast now. Car pulls amazing now

If your having drone, I would recommend installing two glass pack resonators. I did on my set up and it helped huge with the drone. I do have headers off road x pipe, 3:73 gears, Flowmaster exhaust mufflers and it helped big time.

Do I need to start cutting my pipes for the install? Where did you get yours?

Yeah, you would need to cut a portion of your factory piping . I would go to a muffler shop unless you good at welding. Mine went just below my off road x pipe.

Sounds expensive. Where did you order the resonators from?

Define expensive. Lol. It was like $ 170 including the glass pack resonators. Well worth it to keep the drone down. The shop ordered the glass pack which I believe they are mangnaflow glass pack resonators.

How much is the average cost of getting new gears put in? I have a box of 3.73's in my garage but need a decent deal to get them in

373 Gears

After browsing the forums I have a real interest in changing form the stock 273 gears to the 373.

My vehicle is a 2012 V6 vert with manual transmission. My goal is to have more power at lower rpms (3000 rpms and less) and a more usable 6th gear. I do not race and have no desire to go to the track. It just seems that my Miata had more power at the lower rpms than my Mustang.

Can anyone tell me where I would be with respect to rpms, with the 373 rear, and in 6th gear, at 50mph, 60mph and 70mph.

I'm real happy with the 3:73 gears and think it was the biggest acceleration modification mod I have done. Along with the performance tuner. I'm rolling around 2600k rpm's doing 75 mph. 3k rpm's around 100 mph.

It depends on where you go. I have a local Mustang performance shop that will do it - parts and labor - for $400. If I supply the parts, it's $225 for the labor.
