New Gears

Hi all. Should I get new gears in my '13? I currently have 2.73 and want some better acceleration. Thoughts and opinions?

Omg , punk yeah bro, you need some new gears. I had 2:73 gears in my 11 v6 up until a few weeks ago. I had 3:73 gears installed and its a freaking beast. My v6 is shooting of a dead stop like amazing and will eat up stock 10 Gt's all day long. I'm running factory stock Michelin tires and no issues with tire spin. I debated the gear issue for over 6 months and buy far that was the best mod I made. You will not regret 3:73 gears when it comes to performance. The 3.7 pulls hard now down low which was something our factory 2:73 gears were not so good at. I installed a one piece aluminum driveshaft at the same time the dude installed my gears. Now I can run 0-150 mph with no issues and smoke 10 and under factory Gt's all the way.

On a side note, I love the stripes on your pony. Freaking sexy looking bro.

I vote 3.73. I have the 2.73 now and while it picks up mid rpm range it just lacks a crushing start. When i finally get to ordering gears in gonna get some new tunes and a one pc driveshaft too.

The butt dyno will definitely make you feel like the car is finally alive. If youre worried about mpg's (which still isnt an issue) you could try the next step down from 3.73's. not as much low end push but definitely enough to make annoying passengers shut up

I'm mostly worried about drone on the highway with my axle backs. Because of the higher cruising RPM, I don't want too much cabin noise.

I never had any drone with my 3:73 gears and Flowmaster Axle backs. The drone didn't start up until I had the headers on and off road x pipe installed last week. I just had two glass pack resonators installed a few days ago and goodbye to my drone.

The rpm difference isnt a super drastic change, maybe a couple 100 rpm's max between different gear ratios. The drone isnt gonna be very noticeable if at all. Nothing a turn of the volume **** wont fix

I had 3.73 in my 2005 V6, if I did it over I would go 4.10.

4.10's are to tall of a gear for a 4.0L 210HP car IMO.. but we are talking 3.7 305HP so I would say 3.73 even though 4.10's would work but affect you when highway cruising. I am glad the put in 3:55's in the Performance edition because the stock non-PP gears IMO again suck.

Got the gears installed yesterday. It feels great. The difference between the 2.73 and 3.73 is huge. I took my father for a ride in it and chirped the tires in 1st and 2nd. He said it was the fastest car he's been in. I'll have to try it out with the 93 tune soon.
