Hello
First post, found your thread looking for a fox body with a 3.7 swap(I'm hitting a lot of issues swapping my 3.7 into my rx7). If I might make a suggestion for fuel. A guy named Joe in Texas swapped a 3.7 into an rx7 fc, he turbocharged it with 90lb injectors but was hitting a brick wall leaning out on the top end stuck at 502@wheels. I suggested a walbro 450, it has dual rotors, check valve and is e85 compatible.
i haven't read through your whole thread as I am low on phone data, to see if you have dealt with your fuel needs. You might want to check it out.
One thing I'm wondering is, why direct injection? Ford has had issues with carbon buildup on the back of the intake valves with no procedural fix(as far as I know) besides swapping the heads out. Won't you be limited by injector output and a lack of aftermarket options? I don't have the pocket depth that you do but I sure couldn't afford them.
On my swap I am using a Ford edge 3.7($487) mates to a 2013 v6 mt82($187), 2013 mustang gt flywheel($135w/resurfacing) & spec stage 1($281). I got all of my accessories for $300 and recently picked up a remote mount shift which had a Hurst short shifter for $95 shipped. I think I have a wiring nightmare on my path soon and hope someone can give me a heads up. When I get on wifi I'll read your whole build thread.
My current engine situation
maybe your upgrade will be completed when I'm done with my swap

Well past fueling issues, I'm using DI and port injection.

Did you upgrade the pump and are you still using the stock fuel management computer?

Yes I used a dual gt500 fuel pump, stock PCM and a pro EFI supplemental fuel controller for the port injection. We are adding a BAP to get to 1000 whp

Don't have much to offer but what ever you do. Do NOT install the Ford factory clutch with the MT-82. At high RPM you will have lock out. You may also think about going with the MGW race spec shifter to complete the package to prevent lockout at high RPM. Also the clutch sticking to the floor is another curse of the stock clutch. Will it happen to you.. Don't know. But to all mustang owners with the 5.0 this is way common. Good luck and would like to see your build as you move forward.

The Ford flywheel for the 3.7 is a dual mass pos and costs 781 from Ford. I picked up a 2013 gt flywheel for $80, $50 resurface. I'm using a Spec stage 1 clutch for the gt/gt500, new flywheel & pp bolts and dowels. I got the clutch from lmr for $281w/tax and shipping.
Shifter is a Hurst short throw shifter I got online from a wrecker out of a gt500 w/5kmiles. The whole assembly was $95 shipped. They ****ed up an sent me the mt82 tranny mount on accident and then let me keep it for free, lol.

Hi Stephen,
Any progress of late?
My ecoboost project has had to take a back seat to other commitments of late and I'm looking for some inspiration through yours...

Well I'm leaving this Wednesday towing the car to florida to have the turbos and all the intake/exhaust piping done. Then it will head over to MPT for tuning, then to the track.

I installed the jms transbrake kit, radio delete, and made plastic shims for my aluminum intake to prevent heat soak.

I'm posting more up to date info on my 3.5ecostang

We're all still out here, patiently waiting for info on the progress of the Ecostang (and maybe enjoying a refreshing beverage or two in the quiet times).

I like the front turbo mount you've used. May need to use that one myself to clear the steering column etc on the XR - are the exhaust manifolds off the shelf or custom made?

Keep the updates coming, have enjoyed every bit of this build.

Edit:just checked your fb page - nothing off the shelf about those manifolds

Agree with others.....Still here. Sometimes I'm there. But always close enough to be here.
I have watched this baby from when the front end loader delivered the birth of this red head step child, to reading of countless nights of lost sleep, to its trial and error years, to what it has grown into today. SIR, You have raised one BMF.

Have you ever given your build a name?
