Talking Installed my Tune.

I got my SCT 93 octane Tune from Evolution Performance yesterday. Its very easy to install. It rained yesterday and rainy with wet roads today, maybe for the next several days. I drove my Mustang to my girlfriends house yesterday. I noticed very fast and straight to the point shifting from my automatic transmission, i like it. I tried to get on it at 35 m.p.h., no traction on the wet roads. Lots of 'traction control' light flashing and tire spin, i like it. On the way back home i got on it at 45 m.p.h., same thing, no traction. I noticed a lot better throttle response with normal driving also.

I can't really try this tune out until the roads dry. I have a special road where i do all my 0 to 60 runs. This tune feels great and the power feels like the advertised 20-27 added rear wheel horsepower. I'll get back to this Thread when the rain stops.

Cool, what do you use to measure 0-60 runs? I also have an auto with 3.31s, so I am very interested to hear your results. Do you have a baseline o-60 without the tune?

My best 0-60 using the I-pod Touch app dynolicious was 5.46, it took a lot of rns to get this time. Most of the runs I felt were strong were around 5.7-5.9, but I did get a 5.5 and a 5.6.

There goes buying cheap gas for it...

Keep track of what it does to or for the fuel economy and let us know.

The roads dried yesterday. I 'always' use the same road for 'all' my 0 to 60 times. I use a hand held stopwatch. I don't know if my timing style is accurate, but i do know it is consistent. I start my stopwatch when the gas pedal hits the floor, not when the car starts moving.

Factory stock 0 to 60 times were 6.3, 6.4, 6.3 and 6.3.

K&N drop in air filter and Magnaflow axle back mufflers 0 to 60 times were 6.3, 6.2, 6.2 and 6.3.

SCT Tune from Evolution Performance my 0 to 60 times were 5.7, 5.7, 5.8 and 5.7.

I'm very happy with my V-6 Mustang now. My automatic transmission shifts a lot firmer and on my 0 to 60 test, when it shifts to 2nd gear there is (a guess) what feels like, a half of a turn of the rear tires, 'wheel spin'. This is the first car i have ever owned that would bark the tires shifting to 2nd gear with an automatic transmission.

I take my dog 'Chico' with me when i do 0 to 60 times. He went with me on my last car and now with the Mustang. When i turned around to do my second 0 to 60 time, Chico started acting scared. He usually stands with his front legs on my arm while i drive, instead he went over to the passenger seat and curled up in his little bed LOL!!!

I noticed when the m.p.g. display is usually showing 22 m.p.g. on the in-town (not bumper to bumper traffic) roads i drive, is now displaying 23 m.p.g. I won't be able to get a good m.p.g. figure for a while because i'm having too much fun LOL!!!

So 2011 V6 + Performance Package are averaging 0-to-60 times of 5.3/5.2 seconds. So performing the same mods as you theoretically you could see the average times dropping to 4.7/4.6 seconds Don't temp me David.

Car and Driver had the V6 PP at 5.1 0-60,

I am looking forward to seeing what the upcoming Steeda CAI/Tune does for the V6, should be good.

Remember, i start my stopwatch as soon as my gas pedal hits the floor and not when the car starts moving. There is a slight delay with my automatic. I'm sure my times are better than what i posted.

sOUNDS LIKE A GOOD IMPROVEMENT, i'LL HAVE TO CONSIDER GETTING IT. i THINK i GOT FASTER 0-60 TIMES BECAUSE i PUT MY LEFT FOOT ON THE BRAKE, GAVE IT SOME GAS, WAITED FOR THE dYNOLICIOUS TO GIVE ME THE GREEN LIGHT, THEN i RELEASED THE BRAKE AND MASHED DOWN ION THE GAS.

Oops, sorry I didn't know I had the caps lock on, lol! I was just checking my bank account online and use the caps lock when entering some info, I sometimes forget to turn it off.

Need to get it out to a drag strip and really see what it will do.

I really need to. The nearest 1/4th mile track is 70 miles away (one way). All my close tracks have changes to 1/8th mile and i wouldn't waste my time running 1/8th mile. I would love to get a true 1/4th mile, time and speed.

70 miles isn't too bad, an hour away.

When do they run?

I checked their web site today. I-40 Dragway, they seem to have changed to a 1/8th mile track. I'll have to ask around where people run in my area. I haven't been to a drag strip in 35 years LOL!!! I see several trailered drag cars go by my house late Friday afternoons and they aren't headed to the drag strip i was thinking about trying. I'll have to check around.

All the drag strips around me have changed to 1/8th mile, not going to waste my time on that. So i bought me a G-Tech LOL!!! My research on this has the times close to a drag strip but they (the G-Tech) seem to give you a mile or two per hour more on the 1/4th mile speeds.

First run i put my foot on the brake while i gave it a little gas. Burnt the tires pretty good and went sideways some, but i didn't lift the throttle. 0 to 60 was 5.70 seconds and the 1/4th mile was 14.075 at 102.25 m.p.h.

Second run i didn't powerbrake any and started out with just a small amount of wheel spin (traction control was off with both runs). 0 to 60 was 5.295 seconds, 60' 2.249 seconds, 1/8th mile was 8.983 seconds at 82.44 m.p.h. and the 1/4th mile was 13.774 seconds at 103.52 m.p.h.

This is what the G-Tech recorded, for what its worth. If these times are accurate, i think they are pretty good for a V-6 with an automatic transmission.

Wow, sounds like great runs! I think the G-Tech has similar accuracy to the Dynolicious, and my Dynolicious times were right there ith the timeslips I got from the dragstrip when I ran them together.

Can't wait to get a tune for my car, but I am late on my property taxes, got to get those paid off first. I am still stock. I plan to hit the dragstrip this Thursday night, the high is supposed to be 76, thr lowest high in months. Hopefully I can improve on my 14.5.

I have a gtech but gave up after it read my last Stang @ 0to60 in 3.9secs twice Gave it one last try right after getting my 2011 and got 4.6sec to 60, that kinda seems fair.
